•Appliances

•External power adapters

•Televisions

•Audiovisual equipment

Step 4: Recycling Programs

Set up a robust recycling program and track disposal rates

Recycling bins Recycling of batteries Recycling office supplies Information on website Set up opportunities to

compost food waste

Ongoing Consumables: MR credit 7 Record % of waste recycled

Track all purchases for ongoing consumables and durable goods according to Step 3 definitions.

Purchasing resources: Environmental Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Best Practices Manual at www.green.ca.gov

State Agency Buy Recycle Campaign (SABRC) filing•File reports per SABRC

•Good record keeping

Ongoing Consumables: MR credit 1 Record % of recycle content products purchased

Materials and Resources: MR credit 2.1Record % of purchases by cost

Track purchases of Durable Goods: Electrical Powered Equipment

•Appliances

•External power adapters

•Televisions

•Audiovisual equipment

State Purchasing Process provides structure for Document Management:

•Buy from Prison Industry Authority (PIA)

•Buy other which requires filing waiver with PIA

•Buy salvage furniture from warehouse

Record % of sustainable purchases by cost

Durable goods: Furniture (salvaged or with recycled content)
