They are raised parts of the surface of the Earth

• Mountain range: several mountains grouped together

This is a mountain range

- Mountain chain: a long line of mountains

Low areas between mountains

Large plain areas of land WITHOUT hills or slopes.

Plateau

Very high altitude

Depressions

Plains which are lower than the surrounding land

Coastal plains

Flat lands near the coast

Coastal landscapesIt is the place where the land meets the sea.

They have long and sandy beaches

It is a land area almost surrounded by water. It is sometimes connected to the mainland by an isthmus (a narrow strip of land)

It is a part of a river which meets the sea

It is an area of water which is separated from the sea by a strip of land
