The History of St. Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day is a widely recognized holidayaround the world that is celebrated annuallyon March 17th, the traditional death day of St.Patrick, according to History.com.

The Holiday is also known as “Feast of SaintPatrick” and is held in remembrance of StPatrick, one of Ireland's patron saints. SaintPatrick was a Christian missionary and bishopin Ireland who is generally credited withbringing Christianity to Ireland.

St. Patrick’s Day was made an officialChristian feast day by the Catholic Church andChurch of Ireland, Lutheran Church, and theEastern Orthodox Church in the 17th century.

The Holiday was brought shortly after to theBoston area of the United States by IrishAmerican immigrants and is still widelycelebrated today. Celebratory traditionsinclude Irish parties, food, drink, Churchservices, and more.

Looking Forward to Spring

As I am a Colorado native, I have always lovedeach of the seasons of the year. This winter hasbeen a cold and snowy winter thus far and whileI am happy for the moisture that the snow isbringing, I am looking forward to the beautifulcolors of spring. I am anxious to have a little bitof warmer weather to be able to plant someflowers and vegetables in our garden as well ashave many of our activities outside to enjoy thesunshine.We also have a scenic drive scheduled at theend of the month and look forward to planningmany more outings.
