Grand Knight’s Message
My Brother Knights:
The 23rd of January marked a milestone in the history of
St .Thomas Council 1467, it started with a Mass presided over
by the Most Reverend Auxiliary Bishop Daniels with Bishop
LaRocque, Fr Deslippe, Fr Comiskey and Fr Gabriel concele-
brating. It was a very beautiful and spiritual celebration. Our
charter was carried in by our longest standing member Bro. Ed Yurek lead by an
Honour Guard of Fourth Degree Knights. The music was delivered by an all male
choir made up of Brother Knights with Bro Gerry Collins directing, they truly im-
pressed all that were at the Mass. Special comments were delivered later by Bishop
LaRocque.
The Banquet started with the presentation of flags by members of the Bishop Cody
Assembly, followed by the piping in of the head table lead by an Honour Guard. I
was told by a member that this alone was worth the price of their ticket. Our MC Fr
Comiskey truly entertained and kept everything moving on time. Presentations,
dinner and a keynote address by Bishop LaRocque, followed by some live enter-
tainment did not let down the 200 plus guests out for a most enjoyable evening.
Many thanks need to go out, mostly to our members who attended and the centen-
nial committee who worked long, hard hours organizing, planning and selling tick-
ets. To see pictures check our council website at:
http://www.eversweb.on.ca/Council1467/index2.html Our next centennial event will be the exemplification of the first degree on
February 21st, details are in the bulletin. Please plan on
attending.

Chaplains’ Message
Dear Brother Knights and Families
Events to celebrate our Centennial Celebrations have taken place
with great pomp and ceremony. The Mass to celebrate our One Hundreth
Anniversary took place at Holy Angels’ Church on Saturday January 23rd
at 4:30 pm with most Reverend Anthony Daniels, Auxiliary Bishop of London
Diocese as main Celebrant. Con-celebrants of the Mass were the Most Rev. Eugene
LaRocque, former Bishop of the diocese of Alexandria Cornwall, Father Adam Gabriel,
pastor of Holy Angels’ Parish and Father Ernest Deslippe, Chaplain of Council 1467 of the
Knights of Columbus. The senior men’s choir of Holy Angels’ Parish provided the music
and singing. It was a beautiful Mass with many Knights and Ladies present and also Father
John Comiskey, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in London.
Our Banquet held at St. Anne’s Centre after Mass was a culinary delight and was
catered by Wayside Dining Lounge, and was a delicious roast beef dinner with all the
trimmings. Daryn Bee provided piano entertainment during the meal. After dinner
entertainment was provided by Grant Rayner Productions.
I must say the Mass and Banquet were beautiful events to begin our Centennial
Celebrations for 2010. God Bless.

When you Sponsor Brothers, with the centennial year coming, this would be a good time to recall whom you have sponsored
over the years and do some follow up and be sure they have taken all the degrees. This is going to be a
big year with us hosting a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree so they would not have to even go out of town.
As a Brother and sponsor it is our duty to coach them along through their degrees.

Fred Molinaro would like to thank the following who helped with the
display and security at this past years Holiday Fantasy of Lights in
Pinafore Park. Some helped with set up, security, and take down. Italo
DiFilippo, Lino Beltrame, Doug Pardy, Dan O’Connor, Gil D’Amour,
Barry MacMillan, Henry Poirier, Joshua Boston (Fred’s grandson), Jim
Dewan, John Goossens, Mike Butler, Jim Coveny, Maria Collavino. If I
have missed some helpers names, please except my apology. A lot of
work goes into this project every year, so again Thanks to all.
A Flag raising of our Knights of Columbus Flag was held at
City Hall on Jan. 1st, New Years Day to start off our Cen-
tennial Year. The city of St. Thomas dedicated the whole
month of January as Knights of Columbus month and the
flag flew for the whole month. Fourth Degree Knights were
present to form an Honour Guard and saluted our flag.

Columbus Club Report
I would like to thank all that attended the breakfast yes-terday to celebrate our Centennial year. It was a good time and a good turn out. A special thanks to Brother Ron McCormick for looking after the caterer. It was a hit and we will have to do something on a larger scale in the near future. Don’t think it will be a free one though. Thanks Ron!
The Columbus Club are always trying for more business and we the Executive are trying to advertise more and we also are trying to remain competitive. I just want to remind all members to please try and promote the Hall as much as you can and please remember should you book the Hall or Lounge there is a 10% discount for All Knights from council 1467. Please contact Brother Roy Esbaugh when you are planning your next event. Please feel free to contact any of the Columbus Club Executive if you have any suggestions to raise awareness for this great Hall of ours.
Something we the Executive would like you to be made aware of and that is the parking lot is not quite paid off. We have a very good cushion but we would like you all to be made aware that the Columbus Club takes bottles from personal use and even all bottle deposits from the bar and we cash in all of this and it represents about $1500 per year and this money goes towards the parking lot fund. I will update you on the actual amount out-standing in next months bulletin. Thanks to Brothers Roy Esbaugh and Bob Gracey for donating their time and vehicles to return these bottles.
Please plan to visit to Club as we are open every Friday after 4. This has turned out to be a great social event. There is free munchies, a toonie draw that is a lot of fun for every one. Many do bring there families so please plan to come and visit.

Cryan. And thanks again to Brother Gordon Smith for the original

Strive for Star Council status
As we welcome this new calendar year, our centennial, we note that
we are half way through our fraternal year, we congratulate Worthy
Grand Knight Tim Buchanan and all the other dedicated Knights
elected and appointed to lead this great council. This year has started
with a great flag raising, levee and our Centennial Mass and Banquet.
There will be more triumphs and challenges, and I know you’ll meet
this with the strength and faithfulness of those before you.
I’m sure you have a list of goals and objectives that you intend to ac-
complish this year, building upon the success of previous years. You
have my assurance that I’m eager to help.
Among these many goals is the attainment of the Star Council award -
the most prestigious award the Order offers at the council level.
While I’m committed to helping on the insurance side, I’m also very
glad to help on the membership side as well.
If you know an eligible Catholic man who might be interested in join-
ing the Order as many of us do, he’s probably waiting to be asked. I
can help you, either by approaching him myself, or by teaching you
some sales skills that you can use to recruit him and other prospects.
As always, I’m at your service.
Let’s get an early start on attaining those goals and objectives that are
so critical to the growth of any council.
I’m at 637-5787 or martin.evers@kofc.org. Call me – let’s talk.
