Acrane vessel, crane ship or floating crane is a ship with a cranespecialized in lifting heavy loads. The largest crane vessels are used for
offshore construction. Conventional monohulls are used, but the largest
crane vessels are often catamaran or semi-submersible types as they
have increased stability. On a sheerleg crane, the crane is fixed and
cannot rotate, and the vessel therefore is manoeuvered to place loads.

Afireboat is a specialized watercraft and with pumps and nozzles designed for
fighting shoreline and shipboard fires. The first fireboats, dating to the mid-19th
century, were tugboats, retrofitted with firefighting equipment.[1] Older designs
derived from tugboats and modern fireboats more closely resembling seafaring
ships can both be found in service today. Some departments would give their multi-
purpose craft the title of "Fireboat" also.

Abarge is a flat-bottomed boat, built mainly for river and canal
transport of heavy goods. Some barges are not self-propelled and needto be towed by tugboats or pushed by towboats. Canal barges, towed by
draft animals on an adjacent towpath, contended with the railway in the
early industrial revolution, but were outcompeted in the carriage of
high-value items due to the higher speed, falling costs, and routeflexibility ofrail.

Roll-on/roll-off(RORO or ro-ro) ships are vessels designed to carry
wheeled cargo such as automobiles, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers
or railroad cars that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels.
This is in contrast to lo-lo (lift on-lift off) vessels which use a crane to
load and unload cargo.

Anaval ship is a ship (or sometimes boat, depending on classification)
used for combat purposes, commonly by a navy. Naval ships aredifferentiated from civilian ships by construction and purpose.
Generally, naval ships are damage resilient and armed with various
weapon systems, though armament on troop transports is light or non-
existent.

ferry (or ferryboat) is a form of transportation, usually a boat, but
sometimes a ship, used to carry (or ferry) primarily passengers, andsometimes vehicles and cargo as well, across a body of water. Most
ferries operate on regular, frequent, return services. A passenger ferry
with many stops, such as in Venice, is sometimes called a water bus or
water taxi.

Acruise ship or cruise liner is a passenger ship used for pleasure
voyages, where the voyage itself and the ship's amenities are part of theexperience, as well as the different destinations along the way.
Transportation is not the prime purpose, as cruise ships operate mostly
on routes that return passengers to their originating port, so the ports
of call are usually in a specified region of a continent.

Adrillship is a maritime vessel that has been fitted with drilling
apparatus. It is most often used for exploratory offshore drilling of new
oil or gas wells in deep water or for scientific drilling. The drillship canalso be used as a platform to carry out well maintenance or completion
work such as casing and tubing installation or subsea tree installations.
It is often built to the design specification of the oil production company
and/or investors, but can also be a modified tanker hull outfitted with a
dynamic positioning system to maintain its position over the well.
