Graduation Requirements:

You must have a minimum of

23 credits to receive a diploma from Douglas

County School System.

**18 credits are needed to be promoted to senior status.

Required Courses 4 credits of English (9th Lit and Amer.

Lit.) 4 credits of Math (Alg. I, Geometry, Alg.

II & 4th math) 4 credits of Science 3 credits of Social Studies (Am. Govt.,

US Hist. World Hist. and Econ.) ½ credit Health and ½ credit Personal

Fitness 3 Elective credits from CTAE, Fine Arts

or Foreign Language

Science RequirementsBiologyPhysical Science or PhysicsChemistry, Environmental Science

or Earth Systems1 additional Science

Foreign Language Alert!Foreign Language is not required for

graduation.2 and 4 year colleges still require 2

Striving towardsValedictorian/Salutatorian

Valedictorian is student with the highest # of points based on grades in all core academic classes.

Salutatorian is student with 2nd highest # of points based on grades in above courses.

Calculation is based on a points system using all numeric grades from core academic classes, with extra weight assigned to Honors, AP, IB and Dual Enrollment.

HOPE Scholarship Updates:

Hope Scholarship: 3.0 HOPE GPA (Partial Scholarship) 3.70 HOPE GPA (Full Scholarship)

1200 SAT combined score 26 ACT composite score

Rigor Required: For the Classes of 2017 & 2018, at least

4 credits in rigorous courses or Dual Enrollment courses.

NCAA determines athletic eligibility for Division I and Division II school.

Meeting the eligibility standards helps prepare students for academic success in college.

Also protects the fairness of the sport by ensuring the student athlete is an amateur.

NCAA Athletic EligibilityRegister with the NCAA Eligibility Center

Must have minimum 2.0 Core GPA.Complete 16 NCAA Core CourseEarn an SAT/ACT score that matches your
