The  Book  of  Acts  

Who  Wrote  it  ?  The  book  of  Acts  is  the  second  installment  of  Dr  Luke.  The  Gospel  of  Luke  was  his  first  and  this  was  the  follow  up  to  it.    

Who  was  it  wri3en  to  and  why?  Like  the  book  of  Luke,  this  second  le=er  was  addressed  to  the  prominent  man  names  Theophilus.    Some  say  that  the  book  could  be  @tled  'The  Acts  of  the  Holy  Spirit"  because  it  deals  so  much  with  how  the  Holy  Spirit  birthed  the  Church,  moved  in  peoples  lives  and  spread  the  Gospel  throughout  the  world.  The  book  ends  abruptly  as  to  signify  that  the  works  you  read  about  should  con@nue  with  us!!    

The  Believers  form  a  community!  "All  the  believers  devoted  themselves  to  the  apostles  teaching,  and  of  fellowship,  and  to  sharing  in  meals  and  to  prayer...All  the  believers  met  together  in  one  place  and  shared  everything  they  had...They  worshiped  together  at  the  temple  each  day...and  each  day  the  lord  added  to  their  number."  Acts  2:42-­‐47
