June 2018
June Meeting
4th Tuesday of every month
Date: June 26, 2018
Time: Board meeting 6:30pm
Regular meeting 7:00pm
Place: Baker Institute
Program: Pending
Letter from the President:
THANK YOU Past Board member for running the IDTC club. Your input is valuable and I want to say a big thank you to
each one.
THANK YOU New Board members. Many of you are continuing on the board - maybe different positions but I appreciate
your continue support. Welcome to a few new members as well.
Membership – remember these Board members are here to help run the club. Please feel free to thank them for their
service and bring up any issues you wish to them.
CONGRADS! – We had four new life members. Welcome to the life members group! Thanks to Kathy and her team for
selecting these people. All life membership are well deserved.
Another Super thank you is to Hannah and all her people that came to clean out the cage. I understand Lynne Wilks
brought her vacuum. While it is clean under there, I am looking for a couple of assistants. Lucille has volunteered to
inventory the Library, which is still upstairs over the bathrooms. Tammy and Kathy are going to work off of the inventory
that Hannah put together to sort the different equipment that is IDTC and 4-H. Many pieces were given to 4-H so maybe
labeled with both names. Most of the 4-H equipment is in front. I am looking for someone to go through the bins and
ID what is in them. A second person for the IDTC obedience equipment that is in the cage. Please help. This is just one
simple task but we need to get a complete inventory. Thank you who did help and plan to help. Please work with Marian
to gain access, as she knows who has the keys.
We are still missing inventories from some people. If you have any equipment, that is IDTC, please make a list and give it
now to Abby Christman.
This is required by the By Laws that we have an inventory of all items.
From Policy section IV----
Once a year, it is required that all Officers/Board members, chair committee inventories of IDTC property (supplies & equipment). A reminder is put in the newsletter in the month of March and this inventory is to be submitted to the Secretary prior to the May meeting. The Board reviews the list and the documents are filed by the Secretary.
As published, in each newsletter is a list of positions that we have to operate the club. We still have many positions that
are VACANT. Some of these positions take lots of time and some not too much. If you want to know what the position
involves, please see the policy on the web pages under members section. This is a brief description of each committee. If
you want to change and do something else, please let me know and I will change it. Otherwise, I am going to presume
you are continuing on to do that job. New committees are to start in June so let me know. We always can use the help. -
Susan

My Whippet, Zuko, obtained his Trick Dog Advanced title on the 24th of May. Back in April of this year, he was honored by the American Whippet Club in Hunt Valley, MD during our National Specialty with the Award of Versatility. Zuko earned enough points and titles in lure coursing, obedience, rally, straight racing and also winning several Best of Breed runs and a Best in Field to qualify him for this amazing award. Zuko and I also entered Team Obedience while at the National with 3 other friends and their Whippets. Our team name was Team Whip It. We had the Devo hats and whips to complete our costume. We shared many laughs and placed 1st! I'm sure Zuko thought his mom looked goofy, but we had a good time!
Blue earned his CD at the SOTC trials this past weekend June 2nd & 3rd. So proud! Thank you. Shirley
Bandersnatch A Fine Romance (aka Lark) earned her NACSW K9 Nose work NW1 title on 5/19. Out of the four elements she received a third place in two and also received a First Place Overall. This is awarded to the dog who finds the four hides (containers, interior, exterior and vehicles) in the shortest amount of time. She did this in 1:14. I would like to thank Nancy for her help and encouragement in making this happen.. She also talked me into entering this trial. Lark is now 10 years old and has titles in obedience, rally, agility, earthdog, barn hunt, trick dog, lure coursing and weight pulling. She is also a breed champion and has raised one litter of puppies. Kerry
Henley a GSP bred & owned by Diane Krause finished her AKC Championship on 5/12/18. She also
finished her UKC Championship by going Best in Show & Reserve Best in Show. She is now: UKC
BIS CH & AKC CH. Windkist's Heart of the Matter, JH, CGC, TKN, NAVHDA NA PZI at 20 months
old. Diane Krause
Notices in the newsletter:
Thank you to Lynne Wilks and Deb Bain for evaluating the trick dog event hosted as Susan’s house. We had
several dogs earn their novice, intermediate and/or advance titles. We also got to see some unique tricks.
More titles for Betty to track! We are going to be the trickiest dog club! Again, thanks to everyone - Susan
The Fall Point Show is Sunday September 30, 2018 at Sampson State Park. Volunteers are needed as stewards for the obedience and Rally-O rings. No experience needed, if you have never been a steward before we will pair you with an experienced person. Time commitment is 7:45 am - 3:00 pm. (This is a great way to get some service hours in.) Lunch will be provided. And best of all, there will be lots of dogs! Please help us make this a fun day for the competitors. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Shirley Kielmann at mskielmann@yahoo.com or (607) 229-9495. And if you have a ring/job preference please let us know.
