RUN for FCTV!
The 2012 New Balance Falmouth Road Race
will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012.
FCTV is an official Numbers for
Non-Profits charity of the New Balance Falmouth Road Race. For 2012, FCTV
has FIVE(5) road race numbers to be used for fundraising.
Each runner who commits to the Numbers for Non-Profits program gets
an entry, exempt from the lottery in exchange for agreeing to raise at least $1,000 for their chosen charity. If you
would like to run for FCTV, there is a $150 entry fee to receive the number in addition to the $1,000 minimum
required by the New Balance Falmouth Road Race. FCTV is a
non-profit, 501 c3 public charity. Notice of interest must be received by FCTV no later than June 10 and
numbers will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
Anyone who would like to race on behalf of FCTV or to support a member
of the FCTV team, please contact Debby at 508.457.0800 or email
deb@fctv.org.

Smarter Cape Summit Executive Producer Debra Rogers FCTV’s coverage of a two day summit held in North Falmouth, designed to generate new ideas and help shape Cape Cod’s future movement toward a ‘smarter’ Cape Cod. Falmouth Recollections Produced by Rich Miner This program focuses on long-time residents of Falmouth and their recollections of how things have changed over the years. This month the show features Andy Dufresne. Polar Plunge Produced by Malcolm Silverman Falmouth Military Support Group shows up in force at Old Silver Beach in January, to pay tribute to Army Sgt. Matthew Gallagher. The House of Velvet & Glass Produced by Kevin Lynch Falmouth Historical Society Lecture Series hosts author Katherine Howe to talk about her new book: “The House of Velvet and Glass,” a story set in Boston Back Bay in the year 1915. Falmouth First Produced by Kevin Callahan & Kevin Lynch Host Kevin Callahan chats with Bob Clark, General Manager of the Falmouth Commodores, and Christine Clark, President of the Falmouth Commodores. He also interviews author Sheila Cunningham about her new children’s book, “Willow’s Walkabout - A Children’s Guide to Boston.”

Totally Trivia Jr. Produced by FCTV Youth Producers The Youth Producers’ last Totally Trivia Jr. show for the spring 2012 season. In this final show, the kids discuss veterans and all things Memorial Day.

dynamic two-day event for government, business and
non-profit leaders to generate new ideas and help shape Cape Cod’s
future.
FCTV’s coverage of all the conference keynotes and
plenary sessions were available live from Bourne to Provincetown on local
access television channels and streamed on the
Internet. FCTV also orchestrated coverage of
all 21 conference breakout sessions with media
partners Provincetown Community Television,
Lower Cape TV, Cape Media News, and Sandwich Community
Television.

June 2012 Training Schedule ORIENTATION A one-hour class offered each month to all new members and open to the public. Learn more about FCTV. Thursday: June 7, 6:30-7:30 pm Newcomers Welcome Prerequisite: None BASIC FIELD PRODUCTION This basic course is designed for anyone interested in video field production for the purpose of creating their own public access television shows. Tue & Thur: June 5, 7, 12, 14, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Sundays: June 24; July 1, 8, 15, 3:00 - 5:00 pm Prerequisite: Orientation and Membership ADVANCED FIELD PRODUCTION: An opportunity to get acquainted with our remote field production hardware and learn how to set up the “studio in a box” with our Anycast and Compix systems with multiple cameras and wireless headsets. Monday: June 18, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Prerequisite: Basic Field Production BASIC STUDIO PRODUCTION Hands on instruction in this course includes all the basic skills required to produce a multi-camera television show. This training covers camera operations, audio, lighting, video switching and directing. The class is completed with an apprenticeship or final taped video project in addition to scheduled classes, which is televised on Falmouth Community Television. Wednesdays: June 20, 27; July 11, 18, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Prerequisite: Orientation and Membership SOCIAL MEDIA for NON-PROFITS* Social media is everywhere! Sometimes using it can be overwhelming. Come to FCTV to learn “what is out there” and how to use your new-found savvy to boost the visibility of your non-profit! Monday: June 11, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Prerequisite: Basic Studio or Field *Fee: $15.00 for FCTV members, $25.00 for non-members CMS 101-Build A Better Website* An overview of popular content management systems in use today that allow non-technical people to maintain and update their websites themselves. Drupal, Joomla and Wordpress will be demonstrated, discussed, compared and contrasted. Tuesday: June 19, 6:00 - 9:00 pm Instructor: Anthony Sadera *Fee: $25.00 for FCTV members, $35.00 for non-members DRUPAL BASICS* A four-week workshop that focuses on how to build, organize and maintain a website using Drupal, the free and open source content management system. Topics covered: hosting, installation, using themes, organizing your content, menus, and some helpful Drupal modules such as calendars, galleries, and more. Tuesdays: June 26; July 3, 10, 24, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Instructor: Anthony Sadera *Fee: $75.00 for FCTV members, $125.00 for non-members. LIVETYPE and GRAPHICS for TV: A demonstration of how to use Apple’s LiveType to create animated and attention-getting titles. Wednesday: June 6, 7:00 - 9:00 pm Prerequisite: Basic Studio or Field
