What is a CanSat?

CanSat:

• Soda-Can “Satellite”

• Affordable way to introduce pupils to the challenges of building a satellites

• Small electronic payload with sensors

• Launched and ejected from rocket or balloon

• Descends back to earth in a parachute

Competition setup

• To involve pupils in technology and engineering as a practical supplement to other school subjects as mathematics and physics.

• To show the fun aspect of designing, building and eventually launching the CanSat.

• To enable pupils to work better in teams on the same mission.

• Aerospace is an international business so the study material provided and the reporting by the pupils is done in English.
