What is a microbe?

Microbes are….too tiny to see without a microscope, yet they

are abundant on Earth. They live everywhere—in air, soil, rock, and water.

microscopic organisms are found in plants and animals as well as in the human body.

members of one of four major groups: bacteria, viruses, fungi, or protozoa.

Microbes were discovered by….

Robert Hooke first published a description of the microfungusMucor

Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek observed and described microscopic protozoa and bacteria

They needed microscopes to see them.

•Get a flu shot before you are get sick. Avoid contact with sick people. Get plenty of rest and eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and drink water.
