• Can ECs come?– No.

• Can I bring an infant?– The trek has not been designed to accommodate children– The trek involves many commute and group activities– But let us know if you would like to bring your kid(s).

• How can I sign up? How fast does the list fill?– The link will be open on Feb. 10 Monday at 9PM.– Deposit due on Feb. 18 Tuesday. We’ll let you know the detail later.– The 72 spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis– Last year all spots were filled within 2 hours – please plan accordingly or

have your friend sign up for you!

• I want to participate with my partner. Can we stay at a same room? – For the most part of the trip, yes! Except for Hakone (hot spring resort

area, 1 night).

• What’s included in the Participation Fee ($2,500)?– All hotel, domestic transportation, and most food expenses. There will be

optional tours and meals on the free days, which can incur extra expenses.

– Airfare is not included.

• Do we need to book our flight ticket?– Yes, you need to book your own flight to Itami (ITM) or Kansai (KIX)

[Osaka all airports is (OSA)]. Round trip Boston to Osaka costs $1,500+.

• To where should I book my flights?– Please fly into Osaka (Itami (ITM) or Kansai (KIX)) and recommend flying

out of Tokyo where we will finish the trip. We will send more information after registration. Please send any questions after registration.

• To make signups earlier, can we break up the deposit? (e.g. $200 in February for signup, $300 in March)?– No, we can't break up the deposit. You need to pay full amount within 1

week of signup.

• Will there be any issues with my visa?– It depends on your nationality so please contact us if you have any

questions. There have historically never been issues.– Please see Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website

• After we pay the deposit, if we get an internship or change plans, may I receive my deposit back?– You cannot receive a refund if no one from the waitlist can take your

place. However, if someone is available to take your place on the waitlist, you may receive a refund.

• What are some of the optional tours?– Day-trips including cultural, shopping, and sight-seeing experiences

around Tokyo and Kyoto.

• Will there be any vegetarian accommodations?– One of our guides is a vegan, so he will be available to advise you.

• How are the hotels?– All hotels are quality Western-style except the traditional Japanese hotel

(ryokan) for one night at Hakone.– In Japan, hotel rates are by person (so there is no discount for sharing a

room, e.g. with your partner)– Please see the links for hotel examples:
