G U T E N T A GHello

As part of our research on sustainable graphic design we created this multi-function handout. Its a workable pen that unravels to reveal useful information regarding sustainable design considerations.
Made from Ellie Poo Paper: 75% Post Consumer Waste, 25% Elephant Dung, 5% Recycled back into Sri Lanken industry.
We also provided the audience with feedback sheets to evaluate the success of our presentation and see if we had made an impact.
BOOK REVIEW
As part of a summer project I wrote and designed a book review on ‘The Brief and Terrifying Reign of Phil’ by George Saunders.
The book review itself is made from one sheet of A3, then folded to form a small book format. It comes presented in an envelope to relate to brutal tax system in the book.
THE RELAY
Relay - A book created in collaboration with Chris Price. Each week we would argue back through visual communication.
‘The art of the relay is to stay on your toes. Be quick, sharp in response. Certainly don’t linger. But most importantly, never under estimate your opponent.’
The book is A3 and bound using Japanese Stich.
AS IF YOU WERE ALONE
Here are screen shots from a film I made in collaboration with Gregg Swan. We laser cut the letter ‘I’ from clear accrlyic and filmed the water running out in a controlled environment. The aim was to convey the idea of being alone and time running out. The letter ‘I’ is also a singular word and means myself(alone).
The water hosts a lonely fish and the poem by David Whyte that inspired the film.

THE HIGH STREET
‘Keep It Local’ A Book I designed in collaboration with Femi Idiwu-Read as part of our High Street brief.
We wanted to encourage people to use their local independent stores and become part of the community.
The book is made using perfect binding.
THE TEN STATEMENTS
This an A2 double sided poster that folds down to A5. The poster voices the thoughts of local residents and aims to raise awareness of the thriving community spirit in the area of Avon Mouth, Bristol.
The design is based on a tacograph, which I found during my visit. They were used by lorry drivers to monitor spead and distance over time.
I feel this is the ideal format to relate to Avon Mouth’s industrial workforce, with lorry transportation being a major part of the local economy.

THE TEN STATEMENTS RESPONSE
I went back to Avon Mouth with my poster and got some really good feedback.
They instantly understood the format and the library even asked for a copy.
This piece is double sided A3 and folds out to form a poster.
TYPE SPECIMEN
This is a Type Specimen Book that showcases my font that I created using Fonstruct:
‘Ceramic Construct’The book is bound using a saddle stich binding.
Vielen Dank für Ihre Aufmerksamkeit. Es würde mich sehr freuen mit Ihnen zusammen zu arbeiten.
