The size of files is measured in bytes

1KB = 1000 bytes

1MB = 1000KB = 1000000 bytes

The speed data travels along a phone line is measured in bits per second

I byte is about 8 bits

So a 5MB file = 5000000 x 8 = 40000000 bits

A typical phone connection speed is 40000 bits per second

So a 5MB file would take 1000 seconds = TOO LONG
