Reporting in PPM v9.30

• New approach

• Customer chooses end-user reporting tools (“BYOBI”)

• SAP Business Objects OEM bundle of software & licenses ceases beginning with PPM v9.30

• Existing 9.1/9.2 customers already using SAP Business Objects reporting solution are allowed to use it in PPM 9.3, we are providing compatibility for this release.

• OOTB Reports are now provided via new “Excel Reports” feature.

• New choices

1. Oracle-based facts & dimensions tables

– Replaces existing BO Operational reporting database with new ETL, expanded (complete) PPM schema support. (delivered as Content Pack v2.0 on HPLN [CP2.0] )

2. Excel reports

– Leverages existing PPM menus/pages by adding new choice to existing JSP reporting

– Choose datasource: PPM production database, or new Oracle-based facts & dimensions tables

– New home for PPM OOTB reports

3. Coming soon: Vertica-based Content Pack (stay tuned, goal before end of calendar year)

• Put modified files in the “customized templates” folder: - By default, in <PPM_HOME>/conf/custom_excel_templates - Or in whatever folder is defined in Server Parameter EXCEL_TEMPLATES_PATH

- Excel export and Excel reports can be run in “Debug Mode” by activating the PPM Debugging Console in the UI (ALT+Click on top logo).

- In Debug mode, the XLSX file will list all the data (i.e. Tokens) available to use in the Excel template, with their value and their type.
