Chosen concepts
ObedienceThere is a sign written Please do not sit on the steps in themiddle and side of the stairs. Therefore we want to see if peopleactually follow what the sign says.
Gender & InfluenceWe want to see if gender will affect people accepting or rejecting tothe interview and whether a male or female is likely to sit on thesteps.
Minority InfluenceWe want to see if the number of people sitting down will influencepeoples decision to sit down.
Self-EsteemThe reaction of people after interview was done (E.G some peoplestood up after the interview to make themselves feel better)

Self-esteem
Many of the people surveyed
immediately stood up when asked the
questions
They knew they did something wrong,
tried to cover up by saying they did not
see the notice even if they saw it.
Or, after the survey, they just walkedaway or stood there.

Self-esteem
Also, when being asked if they saw the
sign, many said they didnt see it
In our opinion,
-People said they didnt see the sign as
a way to cover up what they had done.
-Aware that they are wrong

Special addition
Sometimes, one concept may link to
another.
In this case, the concept of Reciprocity
Norm was carried out:
yA lady that was interviewed by Chao Wei
asked to borrow his handphone to call her
daughter some time later.y Lady expected Chao Wei to return a favor
after helping him with the survey.

Hypothesis The sign helps discourage peoplefrom sitting on the steps.
The sign does not help discourage people fromsitting on the steps. Further actions must be taken tostop this problem.
What have we learned?
-People are unaware of their surroundings-People know that doing something are wrong, but theyjust do them.
-Language barrier
