Corri La Vita 2014

My Corri La Vita day started with a perfect sunny morning. I woke up at 7 am to support the event and to help my

grandma, Bona, who is the president of the association, and my mother, who is part of the team!

I left the house at 7:30 am with four bottles of wine to give to the celebrities who were coming to support the event. At

9:30 am we met Antognoni, our official race starter this year, at the Piazza del Duomo (he was one of the most popular

soccer players from the Fiorentina team).

Finally the competition started, and 3-2-1.. GO! There were two options: a 5K walk and a 13K run. All participants were

entitled to see some spectacular cultural sights and exhibitions, such as Pollock, the Ferragamo Museum or the Picasso

exhibition for free, just by wearing the t-shirt! This year the color chosen for the t-shirt was grey. Every year it is a differ-

ent color!

After a few interviews with TV and radio stations, my mom and I decided to go to Piazza della Signoria, where the stage

was set up in front of Palazzo Vecchio, to wait for the arrival of the winners.

There was also a public performance in the square by the “Bandierai di Firenze” and la “Fanfara dei Carabinieri”. Some

women testified about their battle with cancer in front of the audience. They spoke about how cancer can be fought and

how important sports are to their lives.

After an hour, all the celebrities arrived and I helped manage the stage with two singers, Dolce Nera and Nek. Batistuta, a

famous soccer player, and Panariello, a comic actor, were also at the event. These celebrities awarded the prizes to the

largest group, the volunteers, the kids, and the winners! The wife of our Premier Renzi, Agnese, ran the 13 km competi-

tion and gave prizes to the little kids with the help of Peppa Pig!

My mother had four friends who had breast cancer 12 years ago. Three survived and one did not. For this reason, she told

me that every year she goes onto the stage to support the meaning of Corri La Vita. I am very proud of her!

The whole day was a fantastic experience, because people were running with someone in mind, not just for themselves.

They walked and ran because they believe that together this terrible illness can be cured!
