Adaptation Principles

• Think

• Collaborate

• Share

• Limit

• Measure

Making it work…

• Think– It is not change but adaptation.

• Collaborate– Engage the entire “organization”.

• Share– Begin with the information and distribute it broadly

• Limit– Create scarcity in the “new order” to draw on the best and

brightest

• Measure– Assess the “adaptation capability” of your organization

Adaptation Measures

1. It is acceptable and we expect a project or two to be cancelled prior to its completion.

2. Team members assigned to projects are acknowledged for their contributions.

3. I’m interested in participating in projects.4. I consider the goals I have within the firm and

I’m a part of to be “stretch” objectives.5. Delivering the results of a project is more

important that simply being “on time” and “on budget”.
