BUSINESS NEWS• STOCKS OR GOLD? – BY LAWRENCE LEWITINN
• GOLD WAS UP 5.72% IN AUGUST WHILE STOCKS CLOSED THE LAST MONTH DOWN 3.13%
• REASON: US MILITARY ACTION IN SYRIA MAKES INVESTORS UNCERTAIN, SO THEY HAVE TURNED OUT OF STOCKS TO GOLD AS A SAFE PLACE.
• INTEREST RATES ARE RISING BECAUSE BONDS ARE BEING SOLD FOR LOWER PRICES, WHICH FURTHER DISCOUNTS STOCKS.
• RECORDS SAY GOLD IS GENERALLY HIGHER WHEN TRADED IN, AND BOUND TO BE A BETTER INVESTMENT NOW.
