Troop 491 started in 1905, making us one of the
oldest continuously operating troops in the United
States (105 years old!). Troop1!
Troop meetings are held on Mondays at Madison
ALH from 7:30-9:00pm
We have 3 troop meetings each month and 1
PLC (Scout Leadership) meeting each month
Troop meetings include opening flag ceremony,
patrol corners, skill instruction, presentations,
advancement, fun games & announcements
Parent/Committee meetings each month
Troop 491 Specifics
Troop 491 provides for new Scouts:
Neckerchief & slide, Troop 491 unit numbers, name tag, handbook
Annual dues $85
Scout uniform $70 - $100 BSA Scout Shop in Milford CT
Camping trips $20 - $30 (specialty trips more)
Essential camping equipment $200 - $300 Hiking boots, backpack, sleeping bag, mess kit, flashlight,
compass, personal first aid kit, water bottle (not everything is required the first year) WE HAVE EXTRA EQUIPMENT TO LOAN
Summer camp ~ $450 Camperships are available through Council
