Use Case Tool Difficulty Level

If you want to install and setup everything (good for learning) WAMP, MAMP, LAMP

Medium to Difficult

If you have a team of developers and as Team Lead / System Admin - you want everyone to use same process for installation - which can further be reused to deploy to production server.

Vagrant Setup - HardUse - Easy

If you are an end user - who wants to have a local (or server) installation without learning technology.

OR - If you are a developer - who wants to try different open source technologies (wordpress, joomla, drupal, magento etc) without first learning the technology.

Bitnami Easy (GUI or VM based)

Bitnami - LOCAL InstallationsS. No. Environment Description

1.1 Local Download Virtual Machine Image (and use a VM client like VirtualBox)

1.2 Local If you want only one application (eg- wordpress) - Download and run Bitnami application installer (eg- wordpress installer)

1.3 Local If you want multiple applications -1. Download and install Bitnami Infra Installer like WAMP, MAMP, LAMP2. Download and install related module for application (eg- wordpress module)

Bitnami - SERVER Installations

2.1 Server Use Bitnami cloud hosting service to directly install on AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure

2.2 Server If you have your own virtual private server (or existing cloud server with OS level access)-Follow Step # 1.2 or Step# 1.3 from above

To install only wordpress → https://bitnami.com/stack/wordpress

To install Bitnami WAMP, and then install wordpress as a module → https://bitnami.com/stack/wamp

To see list of all modules → https://bitnami.com/stack/wamp/modules

Step 1. Run WAMP Installer

Step2. Install Bitnami Wordpress (as a module, on top of Bitnami WAMP)

After installation - run Bitnami WAMP Manager
