TundraTundra• Is a cold, treeless biome that covers the

poles.

• Permafrost – permanently frozen soil.

Temperate Deciduous ForestsTemperate Deciduous Forests

• Characterized by trees that lose all their leaves in the fall.

• What we live in

• Medium Biodiversity

GrasslandsGrasslands• This ecosystem is dominated by grasslands,

with less rainfall than deciduous forest.

• Central U.S.

• Mostly turned into Farm land

• Med to Low biodiversity

DesertsDeserts• Areas that receive less than 9 inches of

rain a year.

• Temperatures range from 20 (night) to 120.

• Low Biodiversity

SavannasSavannas• Are subtropical grassland with scattered

trees and shrubs.

• Mostly know in Africa

• Med. Biodiversity

Tropical Rain ForestsTropical Rain Forests• Characterized by tall trees and lots of

different plants and animals.

• TRF are found along the equator.
