• Organisation Review - appreciated by membership - role of Regional Panels clarified- secretariat better focused- work plan more structured

• Engagement with Stakeholders- active at IMO (>3 man-years)- enhanced relationships with OCIMF- re-examining effectiveness of partnerships (RT et al)- establishing contacts with new EU institutions- IMPA. IACS, Tripartite, IG, ITF, other

Review 2009 (Financial)

• Membership remains strong• Overdue payments significantly reduced• Tokyo Annual Event cost neutral• Publication sales exceeded budget• Further strict cost and travel controls• Minimal salary adjustments • Currency exchange rates favourable through most of

year (currencies managed accordingly)• Operating surplus of USD 2.49 million (vs. budget

USD 1.03 million) and Net surplus of USD 3.04 million

• Proposal to transfer surplus for 2009 to the Capital Fund, which would then stand at USD 5.58 million at year end

Administrative revisions

• Amendment to the Articles of Association to provide that Associate Members must give 6 months’ notice of cancellation – thereby aligning with cancellation terms for full members

• Executive Committee agreed to review further the membership fee arrangements for “management” companies

• Council resolution: Composition of the Executive Committee and involvement of Regional Panel and topic-relevant Committee Chairmen (Item 2.9.4.2)

• Proposal to the AGM to nominate Mr Nicholas Fistes as a Honorary Member
