• Scissors
• Glue (liquid works better than glue sticks)
• Markers or colored pencils

Each journal entry is two pages: right side, left side
Left side: Teacher or student notes on the topic
Right side: Foldables, graphics, etc.
Glue a ribbon to the inside of the back cover to be used as a bookmark
Interactive Journal Set Up
Interactive Journal Tips• Glue an envelope inside the front cover to hold
any loose pieces of foldables.
• Use white glue and not glue sticks. Use small dots of glue about a half inch apart.
• Plan on no more than 1 to 2 entries per week
• Keep a dated filing system of all entries so that students can get what they missed if they were absent.
