Intelligence Management for Crisis Negotiation/Developing a Deliberate Strategy

Presented by Crisis Systems Management, LLC

Day 1 – Information and Intelligence Management

At the heart of a well-managed incident is well-managed information and intelligence. Students will learn how to gather, manage and apply crisis information and intelligence as well as maintain legally sufficient incident documents. This practical course of instruction will address the priorities of information and intelligence management, how to develop a system for information management, how to focus information gathering and finally how to apply intelligence in an unstable information environment.

The afternoon portion will consist of a challenging team-oriented scenario and debriefing.

Day 2 – Developing Deliberate Strategy

One of the important components of successful crisis negotiation is the development and application of a deliberate strategy. Deliberate strategy incorporates meaningful violence and suicide assessments, the gathering, analysis and application of information and intelligence and collaborative incident management. Attendees will learn specific techniques that include: recognizing the value of developing a deliberate crisis negotiation strategy, structured brainstorming, risk assessments, establishing goals and objectives and mitigating the crisis. This course includes a team-oriented table-top exercise that incorporates concepts discussed in the lecture portion.

The afternoon portion will consist of a challenging team-oriented scenario and debriefing.
