INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBTITLES, TRANSLATED AUDIO, AND BRAILLE SCREEN READERS
Today is a look into the future of across-language and across-the-internet communication among all people around the world. A person speaks or types into a webpage and what they say – or type - is translated. This software is cutting edge technology and still being fine tuned. A “dictionary” is not yet available for professional words and names that are specific to this conference so please be patient with subtitle errors.
1) Copy this link - do not click on it! http://tyw.xicom.info/Sessions#session/deafblind2015/english/google/
2) Open your browser and paste the link into the URL address bar at the top (Chrome and Firefox are best)
4) IMPORTANT!!! Add your name to the address bar so that the URL has your name at the end – with no space or punctuation (example: johnbrown)
5) Type the Enter key and you will be transported into the software. (careful that you did not add spaces at the end of the URL)
6) The translated audio is automatically “on”. Click “mute” for silence.
8) Use the Language pulldown anytime to change languages for audio and subtitles.
9) Use the Translation Software pulldown anytime to change from Google to other translation software.
10) If you run into trouble, or your screen freezes, “Refresh" your browser.
