• Afterreading,keepthismanualhandyforfuturereference.

• (HY-CN7BandHY-CN7Wonly) Sincethebracketisdesignedforindooruse,donotinstall it outdoors. If installed outdoors, the agingof parts causes the speaker to fall off, resulting in personal injury. Also, when it gets wet with rain, thereisadangerofelectricshock.

• Donotuseothermethodsthanspecifiedtomountthebracket.Extremeforceisappliedtothespeakerand it could fall off, possibly resulting inpersonalinjuries.

• Tighten each nut and bolt securely. Ensure thatthe bracket has no loose joints after installation to prevent accidents that could result in personalinjury.

• ThebracketisexclusivelyusedtojointogethertwoHX-7SeriesSpeakerSystems.Using the bracket

in combination with other speakers may cause the speaker to fall off, resulting in personal injury.

• Avoid installing the speaker in indoor swimmingfacilities that are not well ventilated. In suchlocations,themountinghardwaremaybevulnerableto corrosion, eventually allowing the speaker to fall resulting in personal injury.

• Avoid touching the bracket's sharpmetal edge toprevent injury.

• Havethebracketcheckedperiodicallybytheshopfromwhereitwaspurchased.Failuretodosomayresult in corrosion or damage to the bracket thatcould cause the speaker to fall, possibly causingpersonal injury.

GENERAL DEScRIPTIONTheHY-CN7SeriesbracketsareusedtojointogethertwoHX-7Seriesspeakersystemsintoasinglesystem.Joiningspeakerstogethernotonlyallowsmoreaccuratecontrolofdirectivityforlowerfrequencies,butalsoenhances the audibility of amplified speech in locations that suffer from long reverberation times or highbackgroundnoiselevels.TheHY-CN7BandHY-CN7Wbracketsaredesignedforindoorinstallations,andtheHY-CN7B-WPandHY-CN7W-WPbracketsareforoutdoorinstallationsundereavesorotherareasprotectedfromdirectexposuretotheelements.

4. JOINING TWO SPEAKER SYSTEMS

Be sure to observe the following precautionary instructions. Doingotherwisecouldresultinspeakersfallingandpotentiallycausingpersonal injury. • Donot join5ormoreHX-7SeriesSpeakerSystemstogether ina

single cluster. • ThreeorfourHX-7SeriesSpeakerSystemsmaybejoinedtogetheronly when the specified conditions for mounting brackets andmountingmethodsaremet.

WARNING

Beforejoiningspeakersystems,layoutaprotectivesheet,corrugatedcardboardorothersoftmaterialonaflatsurface,andperformallworkonthe2speakerswiththeirfrontbafflesfacingdownward.Itisrecommendedthatatleasttwopersonsbeinvolvedinjoiningspeakersystems.Twospeakersystemscanbe joinedtogetherbyconnectingspeakermodules(AandB inthefigurebelow)usingthespecifiedbrackethardware.Note: Position speakermodulesAandB facing in the samedirection. In the figure, their sideangleplate

protectioncoversarevisibleontheleftsideofeachspeakersystem.

Tighten the bolts securely, as instructed below. Failure to followinstructions precisely could result in a falling speaker and potentialpersonal injury. • Ensurethatallboltsaresecurelyinsertedasfarastheirthreadsgo,

then securely fasten each bolt with a nut.• Tighten all the bolts with the designated tightening torque. Fortightening,useaPhillipsscrewdriver,oropen-orbox-endwrench.

WARNING

Step 1. DetachthesideangleplateslocatedoneithersideofspeakermoduleA,andreplacethemwiththeHY-CN7bracket'ssideangleplates.

1-1. Removethe2mountingboltstodetacheachsideangleplate.Note:Takecarenottolosetheremovedbolts,spacersandrubberrings,astheseareusedinthenext

stepoftheprocedure.

Similarly,replacethesideangleplateontheoppositesideofthespeakermodule.

1-2. AttachtheHY-CN7bracket'ssideangleplatesinthesamepositionwherethespeaker'ssideangleplatesweremounted.AttachtheHY-CN7bracket'ssideplatesinthereverseordershowninStep 1-1.

Similarly,attachthesideangleplateontheoppositesideofthespeakermodule.

AttachtheHY-CN7bracket'srearanglebartotherearbracketofspeakermoduleA.Usethesuppliedhexheadboltsandnuts.Fit thespacer (black) into the largerhole in the rearanglebar, thenwith theanglebarpositionedbetweenthe2platesofrearbracketA,andwithholesaligned,inserttheboltthroughtherightmostholeintherearbracket,andfastenwiththenut.Notes • Thispositionwillactasthefulcrumforangleadjustment.Besurethattheanglebarisfixedintheposition indicated in the illustrationbelow. If fixed inadifferentposition, theanglemodewill notconformwiththespecifiedvalue.

• Besureaspacer(black)isfittedintothelargerholeintherearanglebar.

3-2. AttachtheHY-CN7Seriesbracket'srearanglebartotherearbracketofspeakermoduleB.Usethesuppliedhexheadboltandnut.Aligntherearanglebarwiththedesireddirectivityanglemodeposition,theninsertaboltandfastenwith a nut. Thefigureshowsamountingexamplewith0°modeselected.Notes • Aspacerisnotused.• Whena60°modeisdesired,usetheoptionalHY-60DSeriesSpeakerAngleAdjustmentBrackets.Fordetails,refertotheinstallationmanualenclosedwiththeHY-60DSeriesbrackets.

NoteUseamethodsimilar to thatdescribed inSteps 1 – 3above,evenwhen joining threeor fourHX-7SeriesSpeaker Systems.

For installation method of suspension brackets, refer to the Installation manual supplied with the HX-7B or HX-7W.

Note: Optional HY-PF7B or HY-PF7W Speaker Rigging Frames can also be used.

5. INSTALLING JOINED SPEAKER SYSTEMS JoinedtwoHX-7BorHX-7WSpeakerSystemscanbesuspended.Further,uptofourHX-7BorHX-7Wspeakerscanbesuspendedvertically,providedthatallspecifiedoptionalbracketsareusedandotherrequirementsaremet.

5.1. Vertically Suspended Installation

5.1.1. Two-speaker installation

Afterjoiningtogetherthespeakersystems,attachtheirsuppliedsuspensionbrackets(2places)andsuspendthejoinedspeakerfromthe3pointsshowninthefigure.

5.2. Horizontally Suspended Installation

Afterjoiningtogetherthespeakersystems,attachtheirsuppliedsuspensionbrackets(4places)andsuspendthejoinedspeakerfromthe3pointsshowninthefigure.

(Indoor installations only)

5.1.2. Three- or four-speaker installation

TOA’soptionalHY-VM7BorHY-VM7BSpeakerMountingBracketsarerequiredforthisinstallation.Fordetails,refertotheinstallationmanualsuppliedwiththeHY-VM7BorHY-VM7Bbrackets.

WARNING

Beforeinstallingsuspensionbrackets,layoutaprotectivesheet,corrugatedcardboardorothersoftmaterialonaflatsurface,andperformallworkonthe2speakerswiththeirfrontbafflesfacingdownward.

Step 1. Removethesideangleplatebolts(indicatedbythearrowsinthefigurebelow).

Step 2. Usingtheboltssuppliedwiththespeaker,tightenthesuspensionbracketsandsideangleplates.Combinethebracketssuppliedwiththe2speakers,andattachthemwiththesuspensionholesfacingoutward,asshowninthefigurebelow.Note:DonotusetheboltsdetachedinStep 1.
