Removal/InstallationInstructions:FirststepisremovalofthestockfilterintaketubeandAirbox.

1. Openandlatchhood.Placeatoweloroverfenderstoprotectyourcarsfinish(optional).2. Removethebatteryboxcoverbyremoving(3)plasticscrewretainersbyhand.Note:The

retainersarenotattachedtothecover.Placetheretainersinasafeplaceforreinstallationlater.

3. Disconnectthenegativeterminalonthebatterywitharatchetandsize10socket.

4. LocateanddisconnecttheAirTempSensor(a)fromtheintaketube.Itiseasiertouseascrewdriverandputpressureontheleftsideoftheelectricalconnectorandslideitoff.

5. Usingaflatheadscrewdriver,locatetheintaketubeandloosenthehoseclamp(b)andslideititofftheAirbox.

6. GentlyprytheintaketubeoutoftheAirbox.

7. LocateandremovetheAirboxmountingbolt(c)usingaratchetandsize10socket.

8. GentlyprytheAirTempSensorWiringHarnessAnchorfromtheAirbox.Note:Usingpliersmaymakethejobeasier.Becarefulnottostretchordamagethewiringharnessortheanchor.

9. RemovetheAirboxbygentlypullingupandtotherear(awayfromthefrontgrill).

10. Donotlosethespeedclip(d)orAirboxgrommet(e)above.ThegrommetmaystillbeattachedtotheAirbox,inthiscase,locateitandreinstallitbackintothefender.Thespeedclipwillbeloose.Youmayremoveitandsetitasideforlateruse.Donotloseit.

11. Locateandloosenthehoseclamp(f)ontheturboinletcoupler.Note:Followtheintaketubetoitsendwhereitisconnectedtotheturboinletcoupler.Therearetwohoseclampsonthisendofthetube.Loosentheclampthatisattachesthetubetotheinletcouplerandrotateitoffitsalignmentnotch.

12. LocateanddisconnectthePCV(g)fromtheintaketube.Withascrewdriver,gentlyprythewhiteretaineroutwardreleasingthePCVfromitsfitting.ItseasiesttoaccessthePVCfromthefrontoftheenginecompartment,behindtheturbobypassline.

13. Locateanddisconnecttheturbobypassline(h).Usingpliersorchannellocks,loosentheretainingclampbycompresstheclampendsandgentlyremovethebypasslinefromtheintaketubebyslidingitupoffitsfitting.Note:Ifyoucompresstheretainingclampcompletely,itwilllockintheopenposition.Retaintheclampasitwillbeusedlaterduringreinstallation.

14. Nowthattheintaketubeisdisconnected,gentlyremoveit.Becarefulnottodamageanyelectricalcomponentsinthearea.

15. Taketheintaketubetoacleanwork

area.LocateandgentlyremovetheAirTempSensorbyliftingupontheretainertangwhilegentlytwistingthesensor¼turncounterclockwiseuntilitclearstherampandcanberemoved.Note:Thesensorisdelicate,costlyandcanbreakeasilysobegentle.Setitasideasitwillbereinstalledintothenewairtubeinalaterstep.Damagingthe0-ringisnotanissue.Itwillbereplacedlater.

16. WipedownanydustordebrisfromtheintakecomponentsandAirboxwellareaoftheenginecompartment.

17. InserttherubbergrommetprovidedinthekitcarefullyintotheAiraidIntakeTube.Installthealuminumfittingintothegrommet.Becarefulnottodamagethegrommet.Itwillbeasnugfit.

18. SlideonReducingCouplerand#56HoseClamp.Maketheclampsnug,butdonottighten.(youmustbeabletoslide/rotatetheclampinalatersteptotightenit).Slideonthe#40HoseClampontheendasshownbelow.Donottighten.

19. NextstepistoinstallAirTemperatureSensorholdingbracket.Ontheoppositeendoftheintaketube,locatetheairtemperaturesensorhole.Nexttoitwillbeapre-drilledhole.AttachthesmallerButtonHeadScrewand#8Washerinthepredrilledholewitha3/32”allenwrench.Donottightenit.Note:TheAirTempSensorwillbeinstalledlasttopreventdamagetoitwheninstallingtheIntakeTube.ThewasherisusedtosecuretheAirTempSensorinplaceasshownbelow.

20. InstalltheFilterAdapter.PlacetheadapterinsidetheColdAirBoxandsecureittotheinsideof

theboxfromtheoutsidewith¼”FlatWashersandthree¼-20ButtonHeadScrews.Insertthescrewsthroughthepre-drilledholesintofilteradapterandtightenthemwitha5/52”allenwrenchuntilthescrewsaresnug.DoNOTovertighten.

21. InstalltheAiraidAirboxassemblyintotheenginecompartment.Replaceboltspeedclipbackintofenderwellifyouremoveditearlier.Verifythatgrommetisinplace.Alignthefrontopeningontheairboxwiththevehicleairintake(j)andslideAirboxintoplacebyaligningthebottomoftheAirboxwiththefactorygrommetandboltspeedclip.

22. SecuretheAirboxinplacebyreinstallingthefactorybolt(k)throughthepre-drilledholeintotheboltspeedclipwitharatchetandsize10socket.Tightenuntilitissnug.Donotovertighten.

23. InstallHumpHoseandtworemaininghoseclampsontothefilteradapterprotrudingfromtheairbox.Alignhoseclampssotheyareeasilyaccessible.Donottightenhoseclamps.

24. CarefullyinserttheAiraidIntaketubeintopositionandslidethereducerontotheturboinletcoupler.Becarefulnottodamageanyoftheotherelectricalconnectionsasyoupositiontheintaketube.EnsurethereducerisfullyseatedontotheTurboinlet.

25. AligntheotherendoftheIntaketubeintotheopenendoftheHumpHose.Ensurebothendsareseatedfullythentightenallfourhoseclampsuntiltheyaresnug(2oneachendofthetube).

Note:EnsurethattheHumpHoseisnotobstructingtheAirTemperatureSensorcavity(L).

26. RemovethefactoryO-ringfromthefactoryAirTemperatureSensorandcarefullyinstallthenewO-ring.BecarefulnottobreakordamagetheAirTempSensor.

27. InstalltheAirTempSensorintotheIntaketube.Note:takecarenottodamagetheO-ringor

sensorduringinstallation.RotatetheAirTempSensorwiththelocktabfinishedunderneaththewasher.Securethesensorinplacebytighteningthepreviouslyinstalledbuttonheadboltandwasherwitha3/32”allenwrench.

28. CarefullyreconnectthePCVline.Ensurethewhiteclipsnapsintoplace.29. ReinstalltheBypasslineontotheIntaketubeusingthefactoryclamp.EnsuretheBypasslineis

fullyseatedbeforeinstallingtheclamp.

30. PlugtheAirTempSensorWiringHarnessanchorintotheAirbox(m)throughthepre-drilledholeandreconnecttheharnesstotheAirTempSensor(n).

31. PositiontheAiraidPremiumFiltersothatwheninstalled,thehoseclamp(o)isfacingupforeasy

tightening.32. InstalltheFilterintotheinsideoftheAirboxbyslidingitontotheFilteradapterandsecureitby

tighteningthehoseclamp(o).Tightentheclampuntilitissnug,donotovertighten.

33. RemoveprotectivefilmfromPlexiglasWindowandAluminumAirBoxLid.

34. PositionWindowinplaceontopoftheAirboxandplacetheAirBoxLidontop.Securethelidwiththeremainingsix¼-20ButtonHeadScrewsand¼”FlatWashers.Tightenthescrewswitha5/52”allenwrenchuntilthescrewsaresnug.DoNOTovertighten.

35. Re-inspectallfittingsfortightness.Checkthatallclamps,hoses,boltsaretight.Checkthehoodclearance.

36. Reconnectthenegativeterminalonthebatteryandreinstallthebatterycover.Securethecoverwiththethreefasteners.

37. Starttheengine.Makesurethecaridlessmoothandno“checkengine”lightsareon.
