The Next 10 Minutes …

• Three key questions:

• What is CEDAR?

• In 10 years time we want a $1bn Cambridge company to say “We did it the CEDAR way”’

CEDAR – Our Values

• We do things differently. We push boundaries, we take risks, we are courageous. We strive to be great at everything we do

• And we do this to inspire all those engaging with CEDAR to empower them to get more out of themselves and more out of everyone around them

Enterprise Education in HE

• Increase in enterprise education offerings over the last ten years in response to a number of drivers

• Two approaches to enterprise education can be identified:– The study of enterprise and entrepreneurship (learning

‘about’) - enhancing understanding of enterprise and entrepreneurship through reflection on knowledge and theory

– Learning how to do or be enterprising and entrepreneurial (learning ‘for’) - developing the mindset and capabilities required to be enterprising and entrepreneurial

Enterprise Education in HE

The delivery of the desired entrepreneurial outcomes challenges HEIs and educators to review and reflect on what needs to be taught and learnt and how the appropriate learning environments and approaches can be created. Such practices should be clearly aligned with existing goals, outcomes and assessment processes (Herrmann et al., 2008, p. 29)
