functions

The Innovation Exchanges help innovators to understand local healthcare needs.

We work with Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and Integrated Care Systems to establish key challenges.

We communicate these key challenges to industry and third sector innovators – helping them understand the demand and the evidence required by the NHS.

Needs analysis

We help match innovation solutions to identified healthcare challenges.

Signposting

Example: New models of care for dermatology services, supported by UCLPartners

UCLPartners is working with Celgene UK Ltd to support pilots looking at new models of care for dermatology services, aiming to improve care and to reduce costs.

Partners across the region were invited to submit an expressions of interest to work with Celgene UK on pilot projects.

Projects underway include:

• A self-report platform developed to support people with psoriasis at the Royal Free London NHS FT

• A tele-dermatology service at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust

• Nurse led systematic clinics at Barts Health NHS Trust

Valuable support provided by Celgene comprises process mapping and project management.

We seek early adopter sites to test out innovation solutions to identified healthcare challenges.

We support the process to gather evaluation in practice – creating the evidence to support spread and adoption.

Example: Care City, supported by UCLPartners, Health Innovation Network and Imperial College Health Partners

A ground breaking research, education and innovation site in Barking, serving north east London and surrounding areas.

A unique opportunity to improve population health alongside regeneration through creating new relationships with the community, system, innovators and experts.

• Atrial Fibrillation

• PReCePT

• Transfers of Care Around Medicine

• PINCER

• ESCAPE-pain

• Serenity Integrated Mentoring

• Emergency Laparotomy Collaborative
