Steps for raising a GIP form
How to search and apply for a GCDP/ GIP
MatchingThe concept of matching itself is very simple. You browse the
available TNs on the system and email them for the TN you like. If they find you suitable then they will start correspondence with you, which can be in the form of emails, skype interviews etc.
If both of you are satisfied with the TN then you will be exchanging an official document called the Acceptance Note (AN) which will make the match official. (The AN would be provided to
you)Once the ANs have been exchanged you are officially be matched
with that Traineeship. Once you are matched the visa process can be started go!
Matchingi) Email the TN Manager from your AIESEC mailii) adding them on skype, g-talk, linkedin or facebook. The more
personalized the method the more the chance of a reply. iii) Don’t get bogged down if they don’t respond to you, remember there
are 113 countries out there waiting for you.iv) You will be assigned EP managers, who are outgoing exchange
members, and would help you out in the whole process. They would be sending you opportunities that they think are right for you as well.
v) When your form is raised and you start searching for an internship, you continuously have to fill out the EP tracker, where you administer all of the TNs you have sent e-mails, and all of the steps which were taken. This is a simple excel sheet you can make for yourself to track the TNs you have already approached and the progress on them. You would be required to share this tracker with your EP manager on a weekly basis.
How to Search for internships on myaiesec.net
How to Apply for Internships
After you click ‘search’ a list of TN forms appears. In the list click the TN-ID to view the TN form. The TN form will be opened in a new window.
Read the TN form thoroughly and check for all the details which include job description, dates of internship, duration, regions, languages etc.
Ensure that you have all the skills and backgrounds ‘required’ by the TN. The ones which are ‘preferred’ are of less importance.
If you find what you are looking for, and the details match your credentials then here is how you may apply:
Write an email to the email address given under ‘Raised by’ (TN managers email address). The format of this email is mentioned in
the following slides.
What to include in the email
i) EP Nameii) EP IDiii) TN IDiv) TN Namev) LC name/country (EP’s)vi) 2-3 selling points regarding why you think you are the
most suitable person for this internship vii) Attach your package (CV + Motivation letter/Letter of
Intent)
Sample Email Greetings from AIESEC Pakistan! I hope you're doing well. I am Neha Ali, EP-In-PK-IL-2012-730, from AIESEC Pakistan and I am very very interested in 'MYSELF MY WORLD ”14', TN-In-TR-IZ-2012-2792. I believe this is the perfect internship for me as I have organized and participated in a number of creativity- developing events.I am fluent in the English language and also, being an AIESECer, I have good communication skills and have interacted with many high school students as well. If there is a position open in the TN, PLEASE let me know as I would love to be a part of Myself My World ”14. Hoping to get a positive response from you soon. Till then, take care. :) -- Neha AliEmail ID: neha.ali@aiesec.netPhone No. +92-333-5191999Skype ID: neha.ali.
Alternate methods of MatchingJoin all the AIESEC related groups and pages on facebook and
linkedin, and follow them regularly. Various Local Committees (LCs) have personal facebook accounts with the LC names (AIESEC XYZ) for fast and easy matching, so do
add them.Type ‘AIESEC’ in the skype name on skype add contacts tool, and you would see a list of skype names with AIESEC in them. Some
examples include, AIESEC.genova, AIESEC.jordan, AIESEC.puerto.rico – Do add them, and keep in touch with them.By using the above social media tools you will be able to see the activities arranged by different countries in the world. One of the most important one is the Matching Mania. Join matching manias
on skype, and get matched quickly as they bring together many LC’s to a single place, all presenting the opportunities they have for you.
Matching
You CANNOT break your match once AN’s have been exchanged.
