Department of Fertility Care Services (FCS)Mercy Hospital – St. Louis

• Provides Creighton Model Fertility Care Services.• Is a system that tracks external observations of cervical

mucus, bleeding patterns and the structure of the menstrual cycle.

• Used for family planning to avoid or achieve pregnancy without drugs or devices and to assist a woman in monitoring her health.

• Collaborates with physicians to provide NaProTECHNOLOGY.

• Creighton Model Fertility Care Services partners with physicians and is the foundation for NaProTECHNOLOGY.

• Creighton Model Fertility Care Services are fundamental to providing an accurate tracking system to aid the physician’s diagnosis and treatment.

• Collaborative approach with the Archdiocese and Mercy to offer NFP services across the St. Louis Archdiocese

• Beneficial to the Church to connect with hospital credibility in the community and to link with medical care for women

• Beneficial for Mercy to assist the Church in reaching the community and offering a needed service in harmony with Church teaching

• Oversees 40 providers, of 5 models at 22 locations

Archdiocesan NFP Office Funding

• Designated Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) grant awarded to Mercy for salaries/operations of the Archdiocesan NFP office.

• Revenue from the ACA grant is part of Mercy Department of FCS operating budget to cover costs of the Archdiocesan Department.

• Funding of the department is shared by the Archdiocese and Mercy.

Archdiocesan NFP Office

• Reviews requests for funding from NFP providers, gathers statistics and currently distributes ACA grants of $200,000 to 13 entities.

• Implements an Archdiocesan wide marketing plan for all area NFP providers with branded materials.

• Offers programs to serve the Archdiocese including Mercy Fertility Care clients.

• Assists with emotional and spiritual counseling. Enkindle sessions held at Mercy Fertility Care office.

• Mercy contributes Cardinal suite for a raffle to support this initiative.
