• However, they have a different set of endings than the preterite.
• For example: (first verb on page)
• Hablar = to speak
• To say I spoke, drop the –ar and add aba
• Yo hablaba
• You (inf) spoke ends in abas
• Tú hablabas
• He, she, or you (formal) spoke
ends in aba
• Él hablaba, ella hablaba, ud. hablaba
• We spoke ends in abamos
• Nosotros hablabamos
• They or you (plural) spoke ends in aban
• Ellos hablaban, uds. hablaban
• Put the following verbs in your verb book and then complete the chart using the new endings for imperfect verbs:
