Those who want to look for reasons. Those who don’t, look for excuses.

1. Increases your toughness.

Psalm 92:12-13

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted

in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts

of our God.

House plants don’t survive life storms.

2. Increases your discipleship level.

ONE of the most striking scientific discoveries about religion in recent years is that going to church weekly is good for you. Religious attendance — at least, religiosity — boosts the immune system and decreases blood pressure. It may add as much as two to three years to your life. The reason for this is not entirely clear.

T. M. Luhrmann, a professor of anthropology at Stanford and the author of “When God Talks Back: Understanding the American Evangelical Relationship With God,”

One study found that attending religious services can increase the lifespan by an average of seven years for whites and potentially 14 years for African-Americans. An additional study of over 100,000 people done at Johns-Hopkins University found that attending religious services on a weekly basis reduced the risk of death the following year by almost 50 percent. https://www.healthy100.org/articles/how-attending-church-services-improves-your-health-and-happiness

Could 95,000 Women Be Wrong?A study using data from the Women's Health Initiative found that women aged 50 and up were 20% less likely to die in any given year if they attended religious services weekly.

Romans 12:6 In his grace, God has

given us different gifts for doing

certain things well.

Romans 8:29

For God’s gifts and his call can never be

withdrawn.

How are you using your gifts?

How are you becoming an effective

evangelist?

All of us are here today because

someone chose to give. Time to repay

the favor.

3. Increases your understanding of grace.

Where can people experience and bestow

grace?

• Sports?

• Work?

• School?

• Home?

Revelation 1:4 This letter is from John to the seven churches in the

province of Asia. Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is

still to come…
