IIS6 CONGIGURATION WITH WAS (INSTALLED ON LINUX)

Note: Almost every environment would be installed and configured on same

platform rather than different platforms. This is just for your practice.

1) Install IIS6 by following below screen shots. (Make sure Server 2003 OS CD/DVD inserted in the CD/DVD

drive)

2) Install the WebSphere Plugin in Server 2003 . Follow the below Screen Shots.

3) Configure the IIS and WAS Plugin.

a. Open IIS Manager

b. Right click on Web Sites and click on Properties and follow the steps.

c.Right click on Application Pools and follow the steps.

g.Delete the default sePlugins.

h. Right click on Default Web Site and follow the steps.

n. Right click on Web Service Extensions and follow the steps.

4) Restart the IIS server by follow the below step

5) Access the default application for confirmation.

Note: you have to mention IIS Web server host name not the WAS installed host name as below screen

shoot.

6) Creating a Web Server Definition.

a. Copy the configurewebserver1.sh script file from windows server to Linux server WAS installed

bin directory.

b. Run the script . It will start creating web server definition. You can observe the below screen

shoots.

7) You can see the web server instance in the console which is created by the script. We can

generate the plugin-cfg.xml also. To do that follows the bellow screen shots.

iii) Go to the path as shown while generating plug-in and you can see the plugin-cfg.xml file

8) Propagate the plugin manually, because IIS web server cannot federate as managed node.

Download the plugin file from Linux machine and copy it in the server 2003 where IIS is running

and upload it. See the below screen shots where to upload.

9) Then restart the IIS manager as discussed earlier and test your application.
