Abstract The purpose of this document is to help users install or customize web server (IIS) on Win 2k16, Win 10, Win
2K12 R2, and Win 8.1, with role services required for the proper functionality of EventTracker v9.1. These are
essential services that should be up and running prior to installing EventTracker.
The information contained in this document represents the current view of Netsurion. on the

.NET Framework Pre-requisite for EventTracker versions NOTE: User(s) can configure the IIS for EventTracker v9.1 by running the below command in the different
Operating Systems such as Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1.
Please note that the command should be “Run as an Administrator”.

Windows Server 2016
Install and Customize Web Server (IIS) This section helps to install web server (IIS) with role services required for EventTracker.
1. Log on to Windows 2016 server.
2. Click Server Manager Icon available in the task bar.
3. Select Add Roles and Features.

4. Click Next >
Select Installation Type window displays.
‘Role based or feature based selection’ option is selected by default. You can select the installation
type as per the requirement.

6. Select Local Server from the server pool, and then select Next>.

7. In Roles pane, select the Application Server, and then select Web Server (IIS).

10. Select .NET Framework 3.5 Features, and then select .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)

Windows 10
Install and Customize Web Server (IIS) This section helps to install web server (IIS) with role services required for EventTracker v9 .1 in Windows 10.
1. Log on to Windows 10 operation system.
2. Go to Control Panel-> Programs-> Programs and Features.

Windows features wizard gets displayed.
1. Select .NET Framework 3.5 (include .Net 2.0 and .Net 3.0).
2. Expand .Net Framework Advanced Services. Select ASP.NET 4.7.
3. Expand Internet Information Services and then Web Management Tools. Expand IIS 6 Management
Compatibility and check the sub-options shown in the figure.
4. Also select IIS Management Console and IIS Management Service.
5. Expand World Wide Web Services and then Application Development Features. Select .Net
Extensibility 3.5 and 4.7, ASP, ASP.NET 3.5 and 4.7, ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters.
6. Expand Common HTTP Features. Select Default Document, Directory Browsing, HTTP Errors and
Static Content.
7. Expand Health and Diagnostics and select HTTP Logging.
8. Expand Performance Features and select Dynamic and Static Content Compression.
9. Expand Security and select IP Security, Request Filtering and URL Authorization.

Win 2K12 R2 Server
Install and customize Web Server (IIS) By default, all role services are not installed while installing IIS 8.5 on Win 2K12 R2 server. You need to
manually select Application Development and IIS Management role services while installing the web server
(IIS). These are essential services and should be up and running prior to installing EventTracker.
This section helps to install web server (IIS) with role services required for EventTracker.
3. Log on to Win2k12 server.
4. Click Server Manager icon available in the task bar.

Win 8.1
Install and customize Web Server (IIS) By default, all role services are not installed while installing IIS 8.5 on Win 8.1. You need to manually select
Application Development and IIS Management role services while installing the web server (IIS). These are
essential services and should be up and running prior to installing EventTracker.
This section helps to install web server (IIS) with role services required for EventTracker.
10. Log on to Win 8.1.

IIS Settings in Windows 2012 R2/2k16 Please ensure that IIS Settings under Application Pools are as follows in Windows 2008/2008 R2/2012/2012
R2.
1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2. Select Application Pools node, select Classic .Net AppPool, and then select Advanced Settings….
3. In (General) pane, select .NET Framework Version as v2.0.
4. In Process Model pane, select Identity as NetworkService and then click Apply.
