If my heart is overwhelmed and I cannot hear Your voice

I’ll hold on to what is true though I cannot see

If the storms of life they come and the road ahead gets steep

I will lift these hands in faith I will believe

I remind myself of all that You’ve doneAnd the life I have because of Your Son

Love came down and rescued meLove came down and set me free

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

Mountain high or valley lowI sing out remind my soul

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

When my heart is filled with hopeAnd every promise comes my way

When I feel Your hands of grace rest upon me

Staying desperate for You God,Staying humbled at Your feet

I will lift these hands and praise I will believe

I remind myself of all that You’ve doneAnd the life I have because of Your Son

Love came down and rescued meLove came down and set me free

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

Mountain high or valley lowI sing out remind my soul

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

I am Yours, I am Yours, All my days, Jesus, I am Yours

I am Yours, I am Yours, All my days, Jesus, I am Yours

Love came down and rescued meLove came down and set me free

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

Mountain high or valley lowI sing out remind my soul

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

Love came down and rescued meLove came down and set me free

I am Yours I’m forever Yours

The Pharisees heard that Jesus was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John, although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples. When the Lord learned of this, He left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. Now, He had to go through Samaria. So He came to a town in Samaria named Sychar. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as He was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food).

John 4:1-8

The Samaritan woman said to Him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews did not associate with Samaritans). Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can You get this living water? Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?”

John 4:9-12

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”

John 4:13-18

“Sir,” the woman said. “I can see that you are a prophet … I know that Messiah (called Christ) is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus declared, “I who speak to you am He.” … Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” They came out of the town and made their way toward Him.

John 4:19-30

It is difficult to imagine a greater contrast between two persons than the contrast between the important and sophisticated Nicodemus, this ruler of the Jews, and the simple Samaritan woman. He was a Jew; she was a Samaritan. He was a Pharisee; she belonged to no religious party. He was a politician; she had no status whatever. He was a scholar; she was uneducated. He was highly moral; she was immoral. He had a name; she is nameless. He was a man; she was a woman. He came at night to protect his reputation; she, who had no reputation, came at noon. Nicodemus came seeking; the woman was sought by Jesus.
