It instills a sense of confidence and standing on your own two feet. That's the real hallmark of the IB. If you're going to succeed, you're going to do so by your own efforts. I hate to use the term, but A-levels are often about spoon-feeding, and the narrowing down of the curriculum can leave students bored.

Roz Trudgeon, IB Co-ordinator at Kingshurst School, quoted in The Guardian, 7th September 2010

The breadth and rigour of the qualification has been opening doors not just to all Scottish and UK universities but all over the world. The IB is the most globally recognised pre-university course.

The Scotsman, 3rd September 2010

We are lucky. The cure this country [the UK] needs for an education system that is bloated with external exams and tests already exists. More than 2,500 schools in around 130 countries worldwide already benefit from the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes; and this number is rising all the time.

The Sunday Times, March 22nd 2009

In the range of contemporary styles of school education on offer in the UK by far the best is the International Baccalaureate. …this course should be compulsory in all schools everywhere. One outcome might be a better world.

AC Grayling, philosopher, writer, broadcaster in The Guardian, 24th March 2008

Now, it seems, it is the future. …It is not just a good way in to university, but also a preparation for success there.

The Independent, 25th October 2007

IB students are more flexible, more open to new ideas and are more ready to question and challenge
