I SUNRISE AT SOUNIONI am dressed in robes of borrowed splendor. What you see in me is figmentsomething from the sea, from the sun, from you, something from the forest, from night’s essence, and when I die, the elements will take backthe light, the sea, the forest, the moon.Silence will stay in my steadand this soul that I carried in my breastwhen I fell from the sky’s topmost perchwill be scattered in love on the earth.
