Think: Contrast, Line, Color, and Simplicity
If you add text it has to be written backwards.
Here, everything that is white has been carved out. Simplicity can be very nice.
Great balance…made very interesting through organic lines that vary in weight.

Plants made with careful planning between light and dark areas.
Residue of block can add texture and interest.
This one has the lines carved out in many variations…thick, thin, undulating, etc. .
Think about color possibilities, sharing colors to mix new variations.
Think about color added through paper choices. Note: papers must be smooth and relatively thick.
It’s okay to invent processes such as little blocks adding up to a whole. Note: this red is not “straight out of the tube”.
This is done through mixing on the palette, the color change gradation.
Try to avoid “drawing” with the tool.
This is carving out of the negative space is a better technique.
