You should worry about the fact that:

you are leaving money on the table

you are leaving knowledge in heads

you are a network, you work as silos

Every new node to a network adds exponentional value

Ask all people to share their ideas

Out of all ideas, will there be 50 good ones?

5 brilliant ones?

When using Social Media for idea generation, set

boundaries upfront

Manage Expectations

Adopt early successes instantly

Share success throughout each level in the organisation

You (as in: leaders) have to participate

Critical successfactor when not participating as a leader?

Luck

If you want to use social media as something to drive business, then you are the ones who should be participating.

Leading by example is key.

OK, now what?

Think of what you want to achieve first

Start leading by example

That means that you are part of the conversation

Be clear about the goals and the restrictions

Make sure everybody knows

Top down sending a newsletter is not working

Look for ambassadors who will help you scale

They will lead together with you

Success won’t come overnight

Though with good design upfront you will get good result

Social Networking is work

If don’t start doing it, you will lose.

The good thing is:

Most of your ambassadors are already using social media

You just have to empower them
