What is a Cootie Catcher?? A fun way

to tell your friend his or her fortune

What Do You Need? Scissors Paper Pen or Markers

Making Your Cootie Catcher

Step 1 – Fold the paper into a triangle

Step 2 – Cut off the excess paper

Step 3 – Open the paper to show your square

Step 4 – Fold the paper in half again where there is no crease

Step 5 – Open the paper and there should be a center point

Step 6 – Fold all corners of the square into the center

Step 7 – Flip the paper over so the folded sides are down. Then fold all the corners into the center again

Step 8 – Write numbers 1-8 on each triangle fold

Fold the paper twice: vertically and horizontally.

Step 9 – Open each flap and write a fortune under each number

Step 10 – Flip the Cootie Catcher over and write the name of a color, animal, person or place on the flap

Step 11 – Flip the Catcher over so that the numbers are face up. Fold the square in half and put your thumbs and pointer fingers under the flaps

Playing!! Have a friend pick a color, animal,

person or place Move the flaps to spell out his or her

choice Open the Cootie Catcher to reveal the

numbers and have your friend choose a number

Move the flaps that amount of times Do this again For the third number, open and reveal

the answer written inside.
