How to import KMZ into Google Earth, Google Maps or Bing Maps
Google Earth:
1. Select the Open Data you want and click the icon to download the KMZ file on your
computer
2. Open Google Earth application on your computer
Installation of Google Earth on your computer maybe needed
(https://www.google.com/earth/)
3. Drag and Drop the file on the Google Earth Application
Google Maps:
Note: Google account is required importing KMZ to Google Maps
1. Select the Open Data you want and click the icon to download the KMZ file on your
computer
2. Open My Maps on your browser by going to https://google.com/maps/d
3. Click “Create a new map”
4. In the legend on the left, click the layer where you want to add data
5. Click Import (you can import CSV, KML, KMZ, or XLSX files)
6. Drag the file you downloaded or click “Select a file from your computer” button
Bing Maps:
Note: Microsoft account is required importing KMZ to Bing Maps
1. Select the Open Data you want and click the icon to download the KMZ file on your
computer
2. Open your browser and go to http://www.bing.com/maps/
3. Click “My Places” on the panel
My places editor window should open
4. Click Import on My places window
5. Click Browse button
6. Select the downloaded KMZ file and click Open
7. Click Import (you can import CSV, KML, KMZ, or XLSX files)
