ECHANGE VISITORS The Exchange Visitor Program promotes mutual understanding

between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by educational and cultural exchanges.

It allows to experience new way of life and to establish durable relationships.

There are different types of exchange programs, for example, for people with studies in universities temporary, summer work, among others.

BASIC REQUIREMENTSThe sponsor will provide you with specific information on how to apply for the J visa. All J Visa applicants must demonstrate the following:1. That they plan to remain for a specific time in the United States.2. Evidence of funds to cover expenses in the country.3. knowledge of the English language.4. Evidence of compelling social, economic and other ties abroad that

will insure they return abroad at the end of the visit.

DOCUMENTATION1. A valid passport 2. The confirmation page from

the DS-160 Application form

3. A photograph 4. Form DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status

5. SEVIS Fee Receipt

6. Form DS-7002, Training/Internship Placement Plan (Only required for Trainee/Interns)

STEPSHOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA?

STEP 1: Select visa typeSTEP 2: Complete DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application form.STEP 3: Pay the non-refundable application fee and schedule appointment (if

required). STEP 4: Schedule appointment for biometrics to be taken at the Applicant

Service Center (ASC) in Bogota or Medellin (if applicable - see below).STEP 5: Attend your Applicant Service Center (ASC) appointment in Bogota

or Medellin (if applicable).STEP 6: Appear at U.S. Embassy in Bogota for your interview. STEP 7: Pick up passport with visa at your local DHL office or the Applicant

Service Center (ASC).
