How to Choose the Right Website

For YOUR Target Audienceby Katerina Gasset Digital Marketing Strategies

Questions:

• What kind of website should you get?

• What kind of website do you need to have?

• What kind of website do you want to have?

• Who is your avatar?

• Who is your ideal client?

• Who is your target market?

• What are they hungry for?

Famous Copywriter

• If you were to open a restaurant what would be the single most important factor to guarantee your success?

Gary would ask his students:

Students Answers:

• I would need to have the best tasting hamburgers.

• I would offer the highest quality ingredients.

• I would offer better service than the other restaurants.

• I would have the best ads created.

Gary would answer:

• You are all wrong.

• What you need is:

• A bunch of HUNGRY Customers!!!

The same goes for your website!

You need to be in front of the customers

who want what you have to offer.

If you have these words on the top of your

website:• “We are committed to setting new standards for

extraordinary customer service…”

• “ We work with integrity and honesty…”

• What do those words mean to a person landing on your website?

• WIIFM? I don’t think so.

• I highly doubt consumers type those phrases into google search to look for a REALTOR®.

What Resonates with your customer?

• What is he or she REALLY looking for?

• What kind of information are they craving that they can NOT find on other websites?

–Katerina Gasset

“Choose a website design that serves the purpose of your ideal customer not

your ego.”

• The biggest mistake in website choices I see is:

• Real Estate agents and others buying websites based solely on their own likes and desires in color and style.

• The spend a lot of money on something that may never ever work for them.

• Don’t buy website design before you know your target market.

• Get over yourself. It is not about you.

• Vanity pages- yes, those are about you.

• But not your main website that is for consumers.

• Do your research first.

• Don’t buy because it is what everyone else has.

• Don’t pay thousands of $$$ just to look pretty on the web.

• That is a recipe for disaster.

• Sites must be SEO friendly too!

Mobile Friendly

Make sure your site is mobile friendly. There are millions of sites

right now that are not mobile friendly. Google is sending out

emails to site owners to let them know they need to get mobile

friendly.

Tips on Mobile Friendly Sites

• You should NOT have to pay for a separate mobile website.

• Most updated themes and website platforms come with mobile friendly versions of your websites.

• There may be a small fee to make sure the mobile friendly version is edited and looks good, small alterations.

• It should never be like the paying for 2 sites.

Choose a website platform that is easy for

you to useand add blog content to your blog page.

Website Platforms

• Custom designed wordpress high end sites:

• These sites are highly functional

• Prices start at about $6,000 and go up

• Inna Hardison is a great custom web designer.

• Not all agents need sites like these. In fact, most don’t.

• Semi- custom sites on wordpress:

• You can build these yourself or you can hire us to build these for you.

• Flexible theme with blog running down home page or its’ own page.

• Made for you pricing starts at $2,900 and goes up depending on what you want on the site.

• You need to have your own hosting account

• Bluehost is who we recommend

• I have seen these prices as low as $3.95 per month payable annually.

• I am an affiliate of Bluehost, please use my link:

• DIY Themes in Wordpress and html5 template sites:

• There are some great choices for building your own websites now.

• Visit my website at http://KaterinaGasset.com and click on the blog to get to the text version of this video. My affiliate links are there for the themes and website builders we recommend.

BEWARE

Don’t use FREE themes• Unless you choose the ones that come with

wordpress: twenty eleven, twenty twelve, twenty thirteen don’t get free themes.

• There are always security breaches and you want the developer patching those breaches with theme updates.

• Free themes rarely are updated outside of wordpress.

Don’t be surprised! • Don’t get disappointed thinking that the theme

you buy is going to magically look like the demo you saw!

• I learned this lesson the hard way and after I spent hundreds of $$$.

• For DIY themes please go to my website for the links to the themes that I highly recommend and use.

• These are all drag and drop in visual editors. No html or css coding needed.

• If you are a REALTOR® and a buyer’s agent then you can test your keywords and your markets with this easy $10 per month template site. It can be SEO’d.

• Do not use their library of articles for your site.

• Add unique original content on your blog page

• Very simple, nice clean look for a real estate search site.

Now you have a website choice:

• Get all of your content together at one time.

• The biggest reason sites are delayed is by the website owner not giving the designer the materials that they need to build the website with.

• So here is a list:

Put it all together in a folder:

• Your logo

• Transparency of Logo

• Your mobile # with area code

• Your photo- high resolution

• Your company logo and any others that are required by your state or your broker.

• Your company name and anything else required.

• Your Geo Target area and keywords

• Images that YOU own, take yourself or have the license to use

• Images of properties, homes, land

• Images of parks, lakes, recreation, shopping

• Your email address

• Your social media links

• This is just a partial list but great to start with.
