Extension Activities

Make a large number line from 0 to 10. Leave a lot of room between numbers.

Write down fractions and decimals between 0 and 10. Locate the numbers on the number line.

If working with a group, make a number line large enough to walk on. Have the group arrange themselves correctly on the number line.

Extension Activities

Take a number line and put some marks on it. Challenge your partner to come up with a decimal number for the point while you come up with a fraction. Take turns trading off who does the decimal and who does the fraction.

Extension Activities

Make at least 20 cards with either a fraction or decimal on it. Divide the cards between you and your partner. Each of you turn over a card at the same time. Whoever has has the higher card takes both cards. Play continues until one person has all the cards.

To make it harder, limit the value of the cards, i.e. all numbers must be between 3 and 5.
