History of Hotels

International Chain of Hotels

JW MarriottHistory :- John Willard Marriott was the founderer of Marriott Corporation

(which became Marriott International in 1993). The Marriott company rose from a small root beer stand in

Washington D.C in 1927 to a chain of family restaurants in 1932, to its first motel in 1957.

The first JW Marriott hotel was the Twin Bridges Motor Hotel, which opened in Arlington, Virginia, on 1957.

Its Headquarter is at Bethesda, Maryland. The company is now led by his son, Executive Chairman Bill

Marriott and President and Chief Executive Officer Arne Sorenson.

JW Marriott was ranked 2nd Luxury Brand in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) in both 2014 and 2015.

Domestic Chain of Hotels

Oberoi HotelsHistory :- Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi is the founderer

chairman of the group. The Oberoi, founded in 1934, owns or operates 30+

luxury hotels. The Oberoi Group is a global hotel company with its

head office in Delhi. Today Prithvi Raj Singh Oberoi is the chairman of the

Oberoi Group. It has been voted World’s Leading Luxury Hotel Brand

in 2014 World Travel Awards. It has been voted World’s Best Hotel Brand by the

readers of Travel + Leisure in 2015 World’s Best Award.
