Homeland Security Information Network-Intelligence (HSIN-Intel)
HSIN-Intel is a secure community that connects Federal, State, Local, Territorial and Tribal partners across all homeland security missions and promotes the exchange and analysis of controlled, unclassified intelligence and threat related information.
HSIN-Intel Purpose ■ Foster community and coordination between
fusion centers and homeland security partners across the nation
■ Disseminate timely intelligence information derived from DHS sources, Federal partners and the Intelligence Community
■ Exchange of raw intelligence during national or regional incidents
■ Provide a secure, single-access point to unclassified intelligence data which authorized stakeholders may access from anywhere at any time
HSIN-Intel Member Benefits ■ Access to the nationwide community of
fusion center analysts and homeland security professionals
■ Access to sensitive “For Official Use Only” (FOUO) intelligence and situational awareness products posted by Fusion Centers, DHS Intelligence & Analysis, DHS Components and other Federal Intelligence Partners
■ 24/7 situational awareness tools to ensure awareness and coordination during regional and national level incidents
■ Mapping and imagery tools to display real-time intelligence information visually
■ Ability to respond promptly to state and local partner requests for assistance
Be engaged in intelligence analysis functions1
Be a U.S. Citizen2
Be associated with a Fusion Center (for Federal, State and Local participants in the field)

Have a government email address (or other email address approved by the State POC and the HSIN-Intel community manager)

Be employed by a law enforcement, criminal justice or homeland security agency5

SitAwareSitAware is a centralized, 24/7 virtual information sharing room which provides all trained HSIN-Intel members ways to monitor and post relevant items that occur while an incident of national or regional significance is transpiring.
Examples of these incidents include but are not limited to:
Active Shooter
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear or Explosive
Planned Events
Suspicious Packages
Significant rise in violent criminal activity
Critical incidents involving national infrastructure
Natural or Manmade Disasters
Public Health Incidents or Outbreaks
Special events of national impact

GovernanceHSIN Intel is governed by the HSIN State and Local Intelligence Community (SLIC) Executive Board. The board is comprised of 12 state and local homeland security and law enforcement leaders representing the four Homeland Security SLIC regions.
