HOW DID THE WORLD CUP START?

FIFA sent out questioners to see if they wanted to start a world championship. In 1930 the first world cup was hosted by Uruguay because the other candidates withdrew. Also in the first world cup there where no group stages so a lot of teams only played one game but in the second world cup there where. There was no world cup in 1942 because of the outbreak of World War 2.

WHY DID THE WORLD CUP START?

People started to follow soccer and play soccer after the world’s first international match between Scotland and England in Glasgow in 1872 and the score was 0-0, then there was a competition in the summer Olympics.

On 22nd of May 1904 FIFA was founded in Paris.

WHICH COUNTRIES WHERE PART OF THE FIRST WORLD CUP? It was held in Uruguay in 1930 1st place went to

Uruguay, 2nd place went to Argentina, 3rd place went to the U.S and 4th place went to Yugoslavia, and the other teams where, Chile, France, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Romania, Peru, Paraguay, Belgium.
