His Name and salvation
His Name Leads to Salvation -- Call on His
Name!
What is His Name, Do You Know?
(Pro 30:4) “… what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou
canst tell?
YaHshua or Jesus?
Names matter – Yes they do! By Your servant Dan Baxley

Let’s cut right to the bone of the matter, no long diatribes or complicated
research, just straight and simple, right from your own bible. So, open your
bible and read the following verses:
(Rev 2:3) I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for
my name's sake, and you have not grown weary.
(Rev 3:5) The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white
garments, and I will never blot his (your) name out of the
book of life. I will confess his (your) name before my Father
and before his angels.
(Rev 3:8) "'I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an
open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have
but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have
NOT denied my name.
(Rev 3:12) The one who conquers, I (YaHshua) will make him a
pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I
will write on him the name of my God (the Father), and the
name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes
down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
(John 1:12) But as many as received Him, to them gave He
power to become the sons of God, to them that believe on His
Name:
(Rom 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the
Lord shall be saved.
How about that, our Savior is going to have a New Name (Rev 3:12) and
He is going to put it on those that are His, along with our Heavenly
Father’s Name, which does not change, and the name of the New
Jerusalem, and look, to those who believe in His Name will be called the
"sons of God".
I should not have to go any further, not really you either accept this or you
don’t. There is a "book" and your name is in it, and your name is subject to
"removal" or being "sealed" forever. These verses are not speaking
figuratively – They are plain and by these verses it is made plain that your
name means something, as does the Name of our Savior and of our
Heavenly Father.
Actually that is a backward statement -- The Father's Name and the Name
of His Son is first and foremost, our names being secondary. Being the self-
centered beings that we are it really is no surprise that we would relegate
the personal identity of the Creator to a secondary position while seeing
our own identity in this world as something important. We then dare to
suggest the Holy Identity of our Savior is subject to change and even
substitution being replaced by whatever men imagine. The Name of our
Heavenly Father is obscured to the point of nonexistence -- and this may
seem as no big deal when challenged, "Names don't matter", they say when
pushed into that corner, when facing the fact that the name "Jesus" is not
the Name or our Savior. It is difficult to admit the error, to accept the fact
you have been hood-winked, fooled, and deceived. Seeing how your name
matters, as found in the book of Life, then how much more His Name?
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son, Peter
said --
Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven given to men by which we must be saved." NIV
But wait, there is more and the following verses say it all --
(Rom 10:13) ... for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved." NIV
(Rom 10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be
saved. KJV
(Act 2:21) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of
the Lord shall be saved.
(Php 2:9-11) Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the
NAME that is above every name, so that at the name of YaHshua every knee
should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue
confess that YaHshua the Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
After reading these verses who would dare say His Name is not important
and that we can replace His Birth Name with another, different name?
Who? Well, it seems just about everyone, from the translators to the
preachers and teachers to the approval of the lay members. I have taken the
liberty to remove the false, bogus name, Jesus, and replace it with His
given birth name, a name that has been available for use from the
beginning. Still there will be those who claim otherwise and will refuse His
birth Name for a Name that never existed till about 400 years ago. The
other alternate name, IESVUS, can be traced back further than that, this
being the name used in the original 1611 King James Version, that people
erroneously call the “Authorized Version”.
What happens is that the His Birth Name does not become important to
those that have for so many years been praying to, calling on and listening
to sermon after sermon in the false name, JESUS. Of course this bogus
name is important, and some claim, inspired, but when the real truth is
unveiled the vast majority suddenly decide it is not that important, while
others begin cursing those who would dare uncover this deception.
Names Matter
From the very beginning names have had meaning and they still do. The
Creator named his first creation and then allow created man, made from
the elements of this Earth, to name the animals of that creation (Gen 2:19).
Prophets of old were named and given names that either described their
mission or the time they lived in.
It was a popular custom for people to give names that were connected to
the god, or gods, they worshiped, or to apply names that were connected to
some major event. The Israelites were no different, this was a common
practice.
Reading the book of the Kings 1 & 2 you see names of individuals directly
connected to the name of the God of Israel, YHWH (Greek –iah). Especially
of note are the last few chapters of the second book of Kings -- a time of
religious fervor an open demonstration of the peoples love for their gods.
These religious people had fallen so far away from the knowledge of the
one true God, YaHWeH, that even though many of them carried His name
within their own they did not know who He was.
Recapping an Historical Event
They had placed idols upon every hill and they had filled the Temple with
every kind of iconic representations of false gods possible – accepting all
gods as equal, but the God of all creation, the God of Abraham had gotten
so far pushed to the background He had been forgotten. How did this all
start? Solomon grew older and weary of his nagging wives, whom he
loved, he continued to give in to their demands for religious representation
– he turned Israel into a religious paradise, by the standards of the world.
And how do we know this?
(1Ki 11:1) Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the
daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite
women,
(1Ki 11:2) from the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the
people of Israel, "You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall
they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods."
Solomon clung to these in love.
(1Ki 11:3) He had 700 wives, princesses, and 300 concubines. And his wives
turned away his heart.
(1Ki 11:4) For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart
after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD (YHWH)
his God, as was the heart of David his father. (David was no less a sinner, but
his attitude, his mind was in a state of repentance, or sorrow for sins he
committed. He struggled to stay right with YaHWeH, but, apparently,
Solomon did not)
(1Ki 11:5-6) For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians,
and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. So Solomon did what
was evil in the sight of the LORD (YHWH) and did not wholly follow the
LORD (YHWH), as David his father had done.
(1Ki 11:7-8) Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of
Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain
east of Jerusalem. And so he did for all his foreign wives, who made
offerings and sacrificed to their gods. ESV
Many years after Solomon is buried and one King after another follows in
his footsteps, continuing the tolerance in religion something happens --
One day during a work project at the Temple, a book was found – the Book
of the Law, the Torah. The Temple of YaHWeH had become a center of
religious tolerance, filled with the statues of every god for every person all
thanks to King Solomon and his 700 foreign wives. Amazingly the people
of all Israel had forgotten all about the Book of Law containing the
covenant made with YaHWeH.
Apparently while renovating the existing Temple to accommodate more
images of other gods a wall or partition had been removed exposing a
scroll that had been tucked away, perhaps for safe keeping by some
forgotten priest.
(2Ki 22:8) And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, "I
have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD(YHWH)."
And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
(2Ki 22:9) And Shaphan the secretary came to the king, and reported
to the king, "Your servants have emptied out the money that was
found in the house and have delivered it into the hand of the
workmen who have the oversight of the house of YaHWeH."
(2Ki 22:10) Then Shaphan the secretary told the king, "Hilkiah the priest has
given me a book." And Shaphan read it before the king.
(2Ki 22:11) When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he
tore his clothes.
(2Ki 22:12) And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son
of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the secretary, and
Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
(2Ki 22:13) "Go, inquire of the LORD (YHWH) for me, and for the people,
and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been
found. For great is the wrath of the LORD (YHWH) that is kindled against
us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according
to all that is written concerning us."
The Book of the Law was lost and now is found and brought to this young
Kings attention and when it was read to him he acted. He realized how far
they had slide and he believed the words he read and set about correcting
thing. What did he do?
(2Ki 23:4) And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of
the second order and the keepers of the threshold to bring out of the temple of
the LORD all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of
heaven. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and
carried their ashes to Bethel.
(2Ki 23:5) And he deposed the priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained
to make offerings in the high places at the cities of Judah and around
Jerusalem; those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and the moon
and the constellations and all the host of the heavens.
(2Ki 23:6) And he brought out the Asherah from the house of the LORD,
outside Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron and
beat it to dust and cast the dust of it upon the graves of the common people.
(Kidron is the Valley of Hinnom -- Gehenna)
(2Ki 23:7) And he broke down the houses of the male cult prostitutes who
were in the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the
Asherah.
(2Ki 23:8) And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled
the high places where the priests had made offerings, from Geba to Beersheba.
And he broke down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of
the gate of Joshua (YaHshua) the governor of the city, which were on one's
left at the gate of the city.
(2Ki 23:9) However, the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar
of the LORD (YHWH) in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among
their brothers.
(2Ki 23:10) And he defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of
Hinnom, that no one might burn his son or his daughter as an offering
to Molech. (child sacrifice)
(2Ki 23:11) And he removed the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated
to the sun, at the entrance to the house of the LORD (YHWH), by the
chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the precincts. And
he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.
(2Ki 23:12) And the altars on the roof of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which
the kings of Judah had made, and the altars that Manasseh had made in the
two courts of the house of the LORD, he pulled down and broke in pieces and
cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.
(2Ki 23:13) And the king defiled the high places that were east of Jerusalem,
to the south of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had
built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the
abomination of Moab, and for Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
(2Ki 23:14) And he broke in pieces the pillars and cut down the Asherim and
filled their places with the bones of men.
(2Ki 23:15) Moreover, the altar at Bethel, the high place erected by Jeroboam
the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, that altar with the high place he
pulled down and burned, reducing it to dust. He also burned the Asherah.
(2Ki 23:16) And as Josiah (yoshiYaH – founded of YaH) turned, he saw the
tombs there on the mount. And he sent and took the bones out of the tombs
and burned them on the altar and defiled it, according to the word of the
LORD (YHWH) that the man of God proclaimed, who had predicted these
things.
– This happened in a period of time that the people of Israel were at the
height of their religious fervor, their religious glory. They were very
religious, having accepted all the religions around them and then some. We
find ourselves in a similar world today. Some think everyone is looking to
god in different ways and different names, but as we read the biblical
record we see this is an attitude of the world not of our Creator.
(Exodus 20:4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any
likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or
that is in the water under the earth:
(Exodus 20:5-6) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for
I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my
commandments.
(Exodus 34:14) For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose
name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
(Joshua 24:19) And Joshua (YaHshua) said to the people, You cannot serve
the LORD (YaHWeH): for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not
forgive your transgressions nor your sins. KJV
(Nah 1:2) The LORD (YaHWeH) is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD
(YaHWeH) is avenging and wrathful; the LORD (YaHWeH) takes
vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies. ESV
From these few verses we can see that the God of Israel, YaHWeH, does
not take kindly to the abuse of His Name, and is not so tolerant of those
that would run to other gods or apply His attributes to another gods – dead
gods, fake gods, gods of wood and stone, gods of the mind, fake gods, fake
and false names. Our God is the God of Israel, YaHshua, having come in
the flesh. When He returns it will not be with tolerance toward all
religions, accepting the names of false gods for His Holy Name. He is a
Jealous God – imagine – the Creator of ALL THINGS is JEALOUS of His
Name and how it is used and does not like it when false gods are given
credit for what HE alone has done and can do.
Remember the verse I quoted earlier? Acts 4:12, “…there is no other Name
found among men by which we must be save”? Good, now ask your-self, what
name was given to our Messiah at birth? The Messiah (YaH’s Messenger, or
the Anointed) was given a Name that would be found among men, not
among angels, not in heaven, but among men. A Name Mary and Joseph
were commanded to name Him. This Name would be a declaration of who
He is, where He is from and who His Father is, by a Name from His
Heavenly Father identifying His Son. Read Matthew 1:21 -- Mary did not
come up with a name for our Savior, Joseph did not dream up a name, no,
they were given a name to name Him, they were commanded, what to
name Him. The messenger angel Gabriel told them the Name the Father
wanted Him to be Named. The Name delivered to Joseph and Mary was
not “Jesus”. This false name, Jesus, finds its origins in the Latin twisting of
the Greek followed by the English twisting of the Latin leading the
Christian world away from the birth name of YaHshua.
YaHshua, replaced in the New Testament by the bogus name, Jesus, can be
seen in the Old Testament of the English bibles as Joshua, which is, or
should be pronounced as Yoshua, or more correctly, YaHshua – the point
being – the bible translators have always had His correct Name but used a
replacement instead. The Name Joshua is the Old English transliteration of
His Hebrew/Jewish name and this name has never been lost. The modern
pronunciation for the Old English Joshua would be YaHshua – oh, have I
already said that, well, how many times it too many? This name, YaHshua,
was a very popular name found among the people of the first century and
makes what Peter said stand out all the more when we read Acts 4:12 –
again --
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven
given to men by which we must be saved.” NIV
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” RVS
“Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” KJV
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we must be saved." ISV
A name found “among men, by which we must be saved” -- not might, not
maybe and not perhaps but “must”. When that was written the bogus name
“Jesus" did not exist. “Joshua” is YaHshua and when properly pronounced
is still “Yahshua”. The name Jesus, however, is never pronounced YaHshua
and the name from which the false name Jesus comes from, IESVS, is not
ever pronounced as YaHshua either. The bogus name JESUS is a
replacement name that can be and is pronounced in most of the Latin and
Spanish countries as Hey-Zeus.
Joshua
This name "Joshua", is a pretty good attempt at a transliteration of the
Name given to our Savior at birth and is found in the Old Testament -- one
whole book carries this Name found among men, the Book of Joshua,
properly pronounced, YaHshua. However, it is never used in reference to
the Messiah in the King James New Testament, even though this would be
far more accurate than the false name "Jesus" -- it is not even an honest
attempt at preserving the only name "by which we must be saved". His Name
has been changed and the inquiring mind should be asking, why?
Even then the pronunciation of the name "Joshua" has been perverted in
the English by the misuse of the letter "j". It is only the English and
American speaking tongues that twist the pronunciation with the
perverting of the “J” from its original pronunciation of the “Y” sound as in
Yod. Many European and Spanish speaking and parts of European
countries correctly pronounce "Joshua" as "Yahshua" but when it comes to
the New Testament the Name is strangely changed to Jesus and then
pronounced as Hey-zeus.
The changing of His birth Name had already begun shortly after the fall of
the Jewish Christians and the rise of the Gentile Christians. The Latin
Church becoming the most notable. From the Greek twisting of His Name
to IESous, pronounced Yesous, similar to some in the Messianic movement
of “Yeshua”. Then the Latin’s twisting the Greek more to their likening,
IESVS, the IESUS, becoming pronounced as Hey-Zeus. From this came the
Church of England breaking away from the Mother Church of Rome and
daring to produce an English version of the bible. Being “authorized” by
the government this English version is then authorized by King James –
thus the name, the King James Version, not the version of YaHWeH, not
the God Version, unless you think the King of England is or was God.
The original 1611 version of the King James Bible printed the Name of our
Savior as "iesvs", then in later revisions changed it to "jesus", apparently
not wanting to follow the Latin form. At about this time, also, the
pronunciation of the letter “ I “ was changing. The “j” was actually the
small letter for the “I” but began to take on a life of its own, eventually
claiming a spot in the alphabet with a different sound – from the “I” to the
“J”, replacing the “I” in the original twisting of His Name. Those claiming
the Original Greek as inspired are off base pronouncing Iesous as Hey-
sow-us, again, nowhere near our Savior’s actual birth name. There are a
couple of other variant spellings, none approaching the Name given to our
Savior, YaHshua (OT, Joshua).
Anyone that tries to convince you that the KJV Bible is the only authorized
version or that it is the only Holy Spirit sanctioned writings, and that all
others are of Satan, are out of their minds or have been fooled by years of
clever teaching just like most the Christian community. In fact, it is not the
book, not the letters, it is the thought that produced the first words
representing those thoughts that were inspired by the Holy Spirit. We
have a Bible that gives us the record of that INSPIRATION. Too many
have placed the book or record of those inspired events as the focus of
Holy Spirit inspiration. I don’t know how else to say it, it is not the record
on paper, passed down to us, it is the thought, the lesson the message that
was inspired and we have the opportunity to read about it and take it to
heart, to apply what is conveyed to our own lives.
The most famous translation of all time, perhaps, is the KJV Bible that was
backed by a corrupt King and fifty plus handpicked scholars of languages.
They plagiarized much of their work, when it came to translating the New
Testament, taking from William Tyndale's previous work and copied from
other translators and translations before them which led to one of the
biggest cover-ups in the history of publishing – replacing our Savior’s
Name with a completely new and different name -- denying our Savior’s
Name, the only Name by which we MUST be saved –
(Act 4:12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. KJV
This verse is a witness against the KJV and every other version that has
followed in its footsteps by replacing our Savior’s birth Name with a
fabricated, made up name that never existed before the King James Version
came into being. The message is there but the DOOR to Salvation, our
rightly identified Savior has been closed to many by pointing to another
Savior, another name –
(John 5:43) I am come in my Father's name, and you receive me not: if
another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.
(John 10:1) Verily, verily, I say to you, He that enters not by the door into
the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
(John 10:9) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be
saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
By accepting another name, by calling on another name for salvation is the
same as going into a different house by a different door. YaHshua says He
is the Door by which we must enter. If we want Him to recognize us we
must recognize Him –
(John 5:44) How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet
make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?
Names Have Meaning
Names do mean something and do have meaning. This is a fact, a truth, we
see how true when we consider our own personal identity. Your name says
a lot, it puts you in a certain family and marks which member of that
family you are. It is by this name you draw a pay check, collect on Social
Security, or put on a marriage license, etc., etc. History is founded upon
names, the names of Kings set the time lines, names of the villains as well
as the heroes mark chapters in the record of men. To suggest names are not
that important is to ignore history and to ignore our Creator and our
Savior. Every knee will bow one day, like it or not – every knee.
(Rom 14:11) for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall
bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
And it is written:
(Isa 45:23) By Myself I have sworn; from My mouth has gone out in
righteousness a word that shall not return: 'To me every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear allegiance.'
Wow, can you hear that, can you take that in? Does this impact you the
way it does me? Even the wicked before they are thrown into the lake of
fire will bow to Him and they will swear the truth, that YaHshua is the
Messiah and Savior, Son of the Living God, whose Name He came in. This
is powerful stuff and the translators of the Words have been carless in this
one most important thing, the identification of the Creator and Savior of all
things.
See the list of names I have presented in “Shouting His Name” for a
revealing look into how the name of our Creator and Savior has been
hidden -- people have trouble seeing it. Satan would love to keep this a
secret and he has his agents trying to keep the cover-up going. In the end,
however, the Creator Himself will make His name known, it will one day
be great among the nations
(Mal 1:11) For from the rising of the sun to its setting My Name will be
great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to My
Name, and a pure offering. For My Name will be great among the
nations, says YaHWeH (LORD) of hosts. ESV
Serious Business
That is not all, there is still more that can be said, but let's turn again to the
Written Word --
(Psa 79:6) Pour out your wrath on the heathen that have not known you, and
upon the kingdoms that have not called upon your Name.
(1Co 1:2) Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are
sanctified in the Christ YaHshua, called to be saints, with all that in every
place call upon the name of YaHshua the Christ our Lord, both theirs and
ours:
(John 3:18)He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the
only begotten Son of God.
This, my friends, is serious business and I hope this small article has helped
further the resolve of those having found this truth and taken it to heart. I
pray this article may even be of use in opening the eyes of those being
called to be saints. Peace to you, your servant, Dan
